imo its more likely it has to do with how japanese devs and franchises like to manage their ips outside japan, and how they usually look with distrust or look down at the foreign markets (thats why also a lot of "j-games" when made for "international release" are dumbed down, or they try to include voice acting because they believe most westerners hate reading).

Would gladly buy all three X, V and T games region free.
May be they could do it in the very long run, but since it's BN I think they'll rather move to the next project, rather than revisiting something that's been complete for years.
The Macross deal was also in talks for years. Terada was most likely told that the deal was going good and that they would instead focus on a surprise global release of 30.
It sounds more like you are the one looking down on westerners.
I have no idea why people think it's a crime for people to prefer hearing characters talk in a language they understand.
