(Applies only to Mouse Playing. In VR you just use hand that you want).
My frustration:
Sometimes in the middle of a good game, the ball ends up switching from my right hand (preferred) to the left hand. I had no idea how this happened. And yes, my 'L' is on to 'lock' the hand. Drives me crazy trying to switch it back in the middle of a game - not knowing how to do that. Eventually, I could get it back to my right hand by pure guess and chance - clicking and moving the mouse - but the good game I had going would be wasted by then.
Bug?
Therefore I am not sure if the 'L' actually does lock the hand. Or maybe it defaults back to 'unlock' when a person logs into the game each time?
If that is true, maybe default should remain 'locked'!
Suggestion:
There is nothing in the settings to pick the throwing hand. (At least I don't see one.) If there were a key in the settings that was associated with the hand to use, then a person could just go into settings, select the hand and then 'lock' it. (Much easier to do that in the middle of a game than doing the mouse spin as described in the answer above - at least would make more sense?)
Again, thanks for asking about this (I was just about to ask today) and thanks again to dev for the answer > currently need to use mouse spin direction.
