I'm also encountering this issue on my laptop, even with trackpad scroll enabled.

I can't speak for all laptop users, however on my computer there is a flat strip down the right-hand side of the trackpad, which functions as a mousewheel. Running your finger up or down it scrolls in the respective direction.

I'm having this problem too. All my laptops "scroll" options do just that, scroll up or down. I tried multi-finger scrolling on the trackpad, dragging one finger on each side of the trackpad, separating and pinching my fingers together on the trackpad (which usually works when I'm really desperate), click and drag, arrow keys, wasd keys, and at one point I even just pressed every key individually on my keyboard. I don't think there is a way to zoom in or out for certain users, which sucks.

More keyboard controls are being looked at, and we will hopefully find a way to improve the scrolling ability using keyboards for you laptop users. In the meantime, if your laptop has touchscreen capabilities, we have implemented touch controls, and so you can use a "pinch" motion to zoom. I hope this helps whilst we work on the next update.
use arrow keys to move up your picture , for zoom i use mouse wheel

Pinching doesn't work for me. For laptop users that don't have mouse, we need a hotkey to be able to zoom in and out. I use the arrow keys to scroll the picture but sadly when I complete it, I can't zoom out to see it finished.

Glad to hear that you're working on it. Thanks!

Maybe then your trackpad doesn't support the pinch function. Have you tried to swipe with 2 fingers up or down to zoom?

gonna copy my answer to another guy with the same problem here because there's no way im writing it again:

"so i looked around a bit and found this thing called autohotkey which is a way to script button presses into other stuff? not sure, but you can write a script which remaps buttons and run it while playing coloring pixels, the syntax for it is:

buttonPressed::buttonOutput

which means if you wanted to remap [ and ] to the scroll wheels you would write:

[::WheelDown
]::WheelUp

and while this script is running, (you can stop it at any time its not a permenant thing) pressing [ or ] will scroll and stuff.

here are the links i used to get this K N O W L E D G E:

https://autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Remap.htm#Remap

https://autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm

i hope you found it helpful."

Did you try CTRL+ and CTRL- yet? Might work, might not work.

EDIT: I tried all the keyboard (with CTRL and ALT together with buttons on the numpad also), it seems there is no zoom option per keyboard. Or it is too well hidden. My suggestion doesn't work, sadly.
