Should I buy Summer Pockets or Little Busters! ?

Hello, so I'm that typical Key's based anime fan but has no experience with VNs, in fact the only one I experienced was Steins;Gate ELITE. I even bought CLANNAD's VN but I still haven't got excited enough to play it.
So at the moment I'm in doubt whether to buy or Little Busters! which is highly praised or Summer Pockets which would be the most recent VN for Key.
Considering that it would be my first VN for Key, in your opinion with which I could have better experience?

It's a tough choice really, if your a key fan, you probably know their style by now which is apparant in both games. I would normally push a new fan towards SP but it's done in a bias at it's the newest work, it's most fresh in my head and thus i have seen less of it (LB has had a anime ect so i have seen it's work more). Both games are really good story wise, i guess LB has slightly more content to see over all, or at least i would say takes slightly longer to complete, this would be a better value slightly for money but if you don't want it being longer, i guess that's a slight down side, so take that as you will, it's a pretty minor point in the long run.

Honestly, i think you will struggle to get a answer to this, they are both similar yet very different, the stories are completly different but they feature similar things, even they both have mini games to play (i did like SP's table tennis a bit more than LB baseball i guess.

If you want a slightly easier (no guide) then SP might be more user friendly, whilst LB is mostly easy and can be done guide less, there are a few trick choices thrown in, SP you can select which character to go visit so it's pretty simple on that front, the choice are simple enough too, with only common sense being needed.

Content wise again is a double edged - if you have seen LB's anime, you have a vague idea of the story, the anime only covers small parts of the games so character stories are mostly new in the game as the anime only dibs the surface of them, whilst SP is "new" in that you know nothing else it, so if you want to read a entirely new project which may or may not see a anime series, SP might be a good choice to go with, if you want a story your more familiar with, then maybe LB is a safer option.

Honestly though, they are both great stories with funny characters, tear-jerking moments and heart breaking stories, you should be fine either way.

honestly i don't think we can easily chose for you, they are both worth purchasing and playing, i am as you guessed a big key fan so i played them both for a serious amount of time, as mentioned earlier, my instincts tell me to be bias and say SP as it's newer (lovely art and fun story) but i am being bias as it's the newest work i can't help lean it as a more favourite, especially since LB is slightly older (Rewrite was released between these two and so was Angel Beats 1st Beat, rewrite being very good unlike it's anime adaption, but that's a whole different story).
I know this wasn't much help but i hope you enjoy which ever choice you make.

Hmmm as Miuna said it's a really hard choice. If I HAD to pick one of these two... I would personally pick little busters because I connected with the characters a lot more in that, not to knock summer pockets at all, because its a damn good novel. Also Clannad takes abit to get into but if you haven't seen the anime yet, please give it a try!

Clannad is a good option and might be cheaper in sales being older, good suggestion. The only thing with clannad is, LB and SP are a lot more modern, in short their art is a lot more sharp and beautiful in comparison, nothing wrong with Clannad's but if you don't play many VN's and you only played newer ones, it might not be the worlds best eye candy, but its a good laugh and has a amazing story.
Pretty much any KEY VN is a good read, my personal favourite (unpopular opinion) is Rewrite, but i do rate SP close to the top too... but as said i might just be bias there with it being new. Essentially all the above are all great :D

IMO It's depend on what kind of theme you want Key to play with your feeling,
Romance/Family -> Pick up Summer Pockets
Friendships -> Pick up Little Busters

I honestly biased for SP more since I love Clannad .

I finished Little Busters on Switch recently and thought it was amazing! I really liked how you kept seeing new things while doing all the girls routes to unlock the final route.

I personally found the Little Busters characters to be a bit more relatable and interesting. Currently playing it on Switch and loving it, while Summer Pockets was a tad bit more boring to me. Summer Pockets is about having a relaxing summer vacation on a remote island where people live slow-paced lives. It's a great relaxing game, and the soundtrack is PHENOMENAL but I feel that Little Busters may be a bit easier to get into for relative newcomers to the genre.

I do agree that "why not both" is a great idea though if you can afford it.
I also highly recommend the Switch version as opposed to the Steam version of Little Busters, cause you can play it while in bed or while relaxing on the couch.

I already watched little busters anime, so I decided to buy summer pockets vn to know the story. Since I love little busters anime, I bought the vn too.

I've played Clannad, Tomoyo After and Side Stories before, and now I'm playing SP. I just finished one route and again the feeling your heart is being wrecked and ripped apart.

I'm pretty sure I'll buy LB in a future sale.
