[SPOILER] Questions i have about the ending

Whilst the story for the most part makes sense, i had a few thing i got a little mixed up or maybe over thought in the end but kind of wondered if anyone knows a bit more;

Kyouko - there is a lot about her i have to ponder over after her last line in the game, i can't remember what she says but he says something outloud to Hitomi (Shiroha's mother), it was something along the lines of "Was this what you wanted/is this enough" ect, i didn't fully understand what she meant, it was clear this is talking about keeping Hairi in the shed but why? It's the comment to Hitomi which confuses me, i know they was friends but she was supposedly none the wiser of the bigger picture

Kyouko (Again) - in relation to the above, what is her motive in keeping Hairi locked up all summer? Her idea of making him clean the shed feels rather misplaced, she clearly left it to him knowing it would keep him away, so why?

Kyouko (again) - After talking to "Nanami" the second time about the white feather story, she glares into her eyes and states they have already discussed this before and that Nanami knows this, she obviously bats this off by linking it to the first time you visit as Nanami but there was clearly more meaning behind this, does this mean Kyouko understands what Hitomi had done/where she had "vanished" to?

Tsumugi - if she story is true, how was she in the ending at the port? Tsumugi's real self's events happened long ago, way before anything around Shiroha took place meaning Umi stopping Shiroha would of had no effect on the past of Tsumugi as it had long happened. So, in her route she begins to "fade" (lets call it that) as summer comes to its end, as she states, she is only here until the end, however she struggles to make it to the festival date, in the Pocket ending though she seems perfectly fine and normal and whilst she informs Shizuka she has the key for the lighthouse... it felt like she didn't really "live" there in regards to how she essentially does in her route, as if the events never took place...

Kamome - Same as Tsumugi, her route dictates she is in Hospital in Europe (was it Sweden? I forgot). Her essence of being there relies on the Key magic which is fine, i kind of got that, but again - this time she stayed on the island, and was working her boat (though not finished) ready for her visitors - the ending again implies she is well and healthy and that wasn't her in so much a sense of spirit as it was the real her. I don't see the butterfly effect hitting up this one either, Kamome wasn't from the island so whilst being a similar age, Umi's stopping of Shiroha getting her power wouldn't of realisticly been involved with Kamome being sick/well.


Think that is everything which confused me, i actually loved the game a lot, though, did anyone else feel a bit sad by the ending? I feel it was a bit empty for Hairi, the events from Shiroha's route never happen, if we presume Hairi and Shiroha hook up after the end scene, i dunno i feel its rather empty, they built their relationship before, heavily on Hairi listening to her and proving it wasn't a curse, seeing the world differently and overcoming bother their problems, i feel the "new" world Umi essentially creates makes their relationship more empty, hollow and plain. Obviously that's not the big picture, Shiroha would be happier in this world and not be a loner, she wont die (in theory) either, but Hairi's lost summer with the guys (Ryouichi, Tenzen and Nomiki plus the other girls) feels lost as well. I also loved how Shiroha and Hairi learned to open up to one another, Shiroha was initially in the real line a person who believed keeping others away wouldn't involve them in her "curse", whilst Hairi slowly got her to open up, so many memories i felt was lost for a not so great replacement. I know Umi states she understands this summer will never happen if she changes the past but... i dunno it feels she overwrites a chunk of that made the story what it was.

Equally, wouldn't Ryouichi not have technically confessed to Shiroha in this line? Remember, he admits he always had a crush on her when they was younger, but because she secluded herself and didn't open up, it was hard for him to get close and it ended at that, whilst in this world, she would of been more sociable, sure she probably turned him down but in rights, surely we can't overlook this as again, it took place when she was younger.

Just some thoughts and questions which went through my mind after finishing the game.

Interesting insights, especially the Kyouko stuff, i literally knew none of that so that gives a interesting perspective to see things through (sorry i am someone who plays the games so often that i get hooked into making sure i understand everything happening). I like that does give her more reason though, Kyouko always is there but never plays much of a role in the story, heck i don't think she ever serves much of a role aside housing Hairi and Umi, so its nice to know that gave her a bigger purpose, confusing as it might have been :) (obviously she plays a much bigger role in Pockets).

The Nanami thing doesn't matter too much i guess, i mean the only reason i even thought there was more to it was because the way Kyouko stares, it seems she saw something more in Nanami than even Nanami herself realised (though this is contended with Nanami doesn't know who she is at that point). PS to pockets - Child Shiroha was adorable xD

Glad i wasn't alone in not getting Tsumugi and Kamome, i would have no issue if they kind of just said it was the key magic (like in Clannad and LB), working for it and all, i could partially see that for Kamome but Tsumugi's setting really made it too difficult, even if her "real" self's life went better, it wouldn't resulted in Tsumugi being here at all, wonder if this was a plot hole they missed.

Yeah its not i hated the ending, i just really enjoyed Shiroha's route, and i think the time spent together on that route and with the other Islanders being lost feels a bit sad, i mean, they could be happy onwards but i think the way they met and the obsticles they overcame really made them shine as a couple and i think that's what i was a little sullen over (knowing it realisticly would never happen like that) .

Poor Ryouichi, best male by some way (possibly across Key's title as a whole, the the LB crew was good fun at that xD).

I enjoyed searching for the ingrediants with her, it was actually really fun and cute <3

I mean, i guess its possible but considering how her routes progresses and how Hairi looks further into things after finding the Photo, i doubt Shizuku would of progressed it anywhere, but i mean, as you say, they admitted themselves they fixed a few complications fans found and said they fixing them in Reflection Blue (god i wish they would announce its western confirmation, i know its not out in Japan but just a confirmation to know we will get it one day :D).

Yeah true, i guess it would be nice if either (or both) had random fragments of their previous journey, even if its just random flashbacks, but yeah i guess the best way to see it is the happy end in the end :)

Yeah, i find his scenes always became a good laugh, heck, he is even funny to use in the Islamon battle xD

Well it's got my purchase for sure (if it happens), i loved SP and for 3 additional routes (New character, Shizuku and Umi iirc) as well as some story tweeks in other routes and additional text in routes/common routes to add more content, for sure something i will have. My only concern is, they did stipulate they will only consider a western release if SP sells well enough to warrant translating it, and there are always pirates out to stop that or people who don't try the game because it involves a bit of reading, which i really hope that doesn't hurt the sales.

how did i forget Nomiki, i look forward to her the most, she was really cute before realising when she is cute like when you beat her in the battle's :3

I do look forward to 2v2, didn't know that was gonna be a feature, wonder how it would work though as i kind of love the tennis mini game :3
