Can't figure out how to "play"
I've loaded this game a few times. I keep trying to do the tutorial and only thing I can ever do is switch to the one chair. That's it. I just sit there. I can use my inventory and the items in it but I can't talk to anyone or move around. It gets boring. There no guides here and the only discussion topic I found said take the tutorial, which doesn't seem to do anything. What am I missing?

It's largely a spectator sport. You can teleport around the club and pretty much just look. I don't bother with the interactives like the inventory etc. I do enjoy the dressing room probably the most - building different combinations of outfits and seeing how they play out against hair/skin color, hairstyle, etc. then making maybe 8 I like most and putting those in the club and watching them do the routines.

Are you playing the demo or the full game? Because the latest version allows you to free teleport around the room. But I think even the demo allows you to teleport to different seats around the room using your controller's thumb stick. Press the stick forward and mover your controller until a circle highlights in the room and then release. As for interaction, position yourself near one of the girls and press your 'dance' controller button. A menu board should pop up that allows you to 'Buy her a drink' or 'Call her over.' The first option does nothing really except trigger an animation where the dancer sits next to you with a glass in her hand. The second option will allow you the further choices for table or private room dances. That's it.

This is the problem, I have the full game and can't do anything. I can't move to chairs, can't move freely, the teleport circle is always red. I can't do anything. Can't buy girl drinks etc.

I found this by accidently bumping my keyboard:

Press the up arrow key on the keyboard to activate 'look to' a place to move. Press the spacebar to interact, then again on menu items.

If the keyboard works but not your controllers, that narrows the problem a little.

What in the absolute ♥♥♥♥ were the devs thinking?

That is the most brain dead idea to work that into a vr game with unused buttons

Seriously... The keyboard? It doesn't even bother to mention it in the tutorial

I had that issue where it told me to go to the chair. I did. Then it told me to talk to the girl to my left. Apparently,, I had been too slow and she had gotten up. So, restarting it, I spoke to her before she left and got the menu to show up to ask her for a table or private dance. Once you manage to do that, the tutorial will be over and you can enjoy.

Also, to get back to the main menu, move to the circle on the floor near the entrance.

Heya, what is the "Dance" controller button on the Index? I can't seem to figure it out. The tutorial didn't work, but the full game does!

If you already have the menu panel up offering a dance in the club or a dance in private, just tap either of those buttons on the virtual panel with your virtual hand's index finger. If you mean something else by Dance Controller Button, sorry I have Oculus Rift S, and I use button A on the right controller to call up that virtual dance menu while looking at the girl.

Yeah I have to hit spacebar, I'll try some more buttons. Ty!

No worries. Good luck.

Ah I figured it out, for future Index users seeing this: You have to hold down on the joystick when pointing at a girl!

Nope, that does nothing for me. Nor does spacebar, nor anything on my keyboard (God knows why a VR game has even been designed to use keyboard controls).

I have exactly the same problem as OP; the game is completely unplayable. And yet have the devs responded even a whole month after his post? I can only conclude that the game in its current state is just bugged, because literally the only possible options available when I start the tutorial is to move to the chair in front of me or open inventory. Once I move to the next chair, that's it. Stuck. Can't even return to the first one.

I've experienced my fair share of disappointing first experiences with a game but this one really takes the cake. This will probably be my first ever refund on Steam after two decades of using it.

I can only say that Oculus Rift-S works perfectly without needing the keyboard at all.

First off, the tutorial is a basic introduction to the controller buttons. It only shows you that you can 1) use your thumb stick controller to port to a chair; and 2) use a button to to bring up a menu when you're near a girl that will allow you to choose either a table dance or a private dance. If you exit out of the menu, you lose all ability to keep playing within the tutorial. You're stuck in your chair until you request a dance and complete the tutorial.

So... Don't select the tutorial when you start the game. "Enter" the club instead.

A recent update added the ability to teleport to almost anywhere in the club with your thumb stick. You can either select a seat (the chair will be highlighted with a green circle when you paint it with your teleport arc), or you can throw a pair of green shoes to where you want to stand in the room. If your controller doesn't work, look to where you want to go and use your Up Arrow key.

Move near a girl and push a thumb button on your controller (the 'A' button on my Rift). If the controller doesn't work, look at the girl in your headset and push your keyboard's Space key. A menu will come up that gives you the option to "Call Her" or "Buy Her A Drink." Call Her opens up the "Table Dance" and "Private Dance" options. Selecting a Private Dance transports you to a VIP room where your girl will perform a routine for you. A Table Dance puts you in a chair in the main room while your girl does a topless dance for you.

Your virtual hands only have a limited ability to interact with objects in the club. The girls are not solid but their breasts and butts do react to your touch. You can pick up bottles, glasses and menus off the tables. If you touch your watch on your left wrist with your virtual index finger you'll open a menu of objects you can play with including a lighter, a cigarette, a rose and a money gun.

That's pretty much it, other than you can customize your girls and the club experience from the menu in the lobby.

After some frustrations with the tutorial, I can indeed confirm that the issue was that the tutorial is prone to a bug that makes it not work as intended. Anyone coming here looking for answers, go straight into the main game ("Enter" from main menu) instead of tutorial. Controller inputs on Valve Index controller are as follows:

Analogue Up >> teleport to target location
Analogue Down (while pointing at girl) >> interact
B >> open inventory
A >> select item from inventory

Hope this helps someone!
