Difficulty Settings (SPOILERS)
So I like the idea of having multiple difficulties and i'm assuming you unlock hard after beating it on medium which would be cool. Just for your info I played through the game here and there during beta releases and such. After playing through it now on easy (got mother ending) then a try on medium, I personally think that medium should be locked to the beginner player. I've watched some videos of people playing and read comments and it just seems most go for the medium difficulty right away and regret it during gameplay.

The reason behind that is I had a much more authentic experience during my playthrough on easy. The killer was very active dropping traps where I've been and where I need to go, walking around searching areas I've been, stopping and just listening for me when he can't find me then going back to butchering. He was also reasonably fast especially if you've never played before. Grandma was fast and the baby was creepy. It was all just the right amount of spook, it gets the player scaring themselves when nothing is even happening.

On medium there is usually cameras right away in the house which definitely take away from the Texas chainsaw mood and just kinda feel out of place. It makes a lot more sense for the butcher to set them up towards the end of the players progression before they either escape, or end up in the bunker because by then you find the security room and more tech proving there's more too this then just a dumb psycho killer. Also his speed on medium is crazy I don't think there is any outrunning him all you can do is get to a vent quick or scare him, but to be honest I personally like that. Like I said though, as a first timer into the house with him at that speed, it might get annoying to some.

I honestly can't even remember cameras in my easy playthrough. I'm not saying I dislike the cameras all together, just kinda takes away from the vibe within the first hour or two of gameplay. I usually play games on the hardest difficulty offered, but right off the bat I knew harder difficulty on this game probably meant just his AI was more active in every way including his run speed and more random traps right off the bat, just making the game harder for no reason. unless I've beaten it and then wanna go again on a harder difficulty that makes sense. The point i'm trying to make is to maybe just hide medium difficulty until they win or lose the game then unlock it for the player to make their own decision. Like i'm assuming puppet combo is doing with hard difficulty.

Too many people just run for the hardest difficulty thinking it'll make the game better because they think they need a challenge. I think this game is plenty hard enough on easy and also really makes for a proper horror experience. Just some may look at it differently if they experience medium before easy.

PS.
I'm definitely going back to beat it on every difficulty because the game is so good :)

Thanks! Your points are good and your reasoning is well explained. I will take that under consideration and think about any adjustments that can be made.
