Go into the Beta Branch and select the fallback version.

This way you can at least play the main campaign until more fixes were released

Did a recent update break it? I remember playing this in its entirety on a Oculus Rift and it worked fine.

Back on december 1st the 2.1 Update got shadow dropped together with the DLC (which got an annoucement tho).

Yet apparently it wasn't tested enough.

The Devs are also aware of the VR Performance Issues and try to fix it

Fair enough, I haven't touched the game in a while so I must have missed that update. Such a shame too because Ace Combat doesn't support VR (except for like three missions or something?) so I can't really think of any combat flight games that actually support it. Huge missed opportunity.

You can get AC7 working in VR with UEVR.

If you're on a Meta Quest, using the MetaVR instead of SteamVR can help with performance currently.
Sacrilegious, I know, but it's a workaround.

Or really simply use the fallback version.
In VR it looks better than the updated one.

This mod:

Makes AC7 pretty much on par in VR with Project Wingman.
The installation is a bit fiddly, but the result is really nice.
There are minor issues (gun reticle not shown in VR is the biggest issue imho), but graphic and performance are probably better than Project Wingman's

Just wanted to chime in and say that I'm experiencing this myself as well. Absolutely zero issues in VR with the rollback branch of the game, but trying to play 2.1 gets me between 15-20 fps consistently. Pretty disappointing.

You can use UEVR for Ace now
