Frontline 59 tunnel mission needs checkpoints!
It's really frustrating! It took me several tries to clear the tunnel, then there's massive amount of enemies and so much fire on you, I crashed while dodging stuff :(

Would really be nice if there was a checkpoint before the highway shutter and another after clearing the tunnel (at the very least, there should be one before clearing the tunnel).

Edit: I have since cleared it. And then discovered that the last mission also way too long and needs checkpoints.

There's not a single Mission in the game that has Checkpoints since the game was designed that way.

Always a first time to change something ;)
I guess but the Devs intentionally left a Checkpoint system out

spent like 45 minutes dealing with this tunnel run, crashing at the end of the tunnel made me quit during my last try
this mission straight up doesn't respect my time

loved the original campaign but this mission in dlc is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, old ace combat tunnel runs seemed easier for me or i got too old since i last played them lol

I did manage to beat the mission on my second try, kinda just slowed down and lined up the tunnel and kept myself steady. But even I feel like there should be an exception to the "no checkpoints" rule, just for that spot in particular, right in front of that tunnel entrance. Nowhere else, just there, cause it is definitely rough.

git gud

use f-16, slow flight in the tunnel, bring all ground missile (MLAG, unguided bomb), I beat it first time under 30 minutes on the third. It much easier than AC tunnel

F/C-16 is still considered a fast one. Try Sk.25U since that one is slow enough to get a feel of the tunnel surroundings easier. I use that also to find shortcuts or other pathways that a small aircraft can go through.

Funny enough that I can get through this tunnel on the first try on an aircraft other than Sk.25U, but hey, there's always room for learning.
the game was designed to not have checkpoints

look its simple, just get good

Yeah i beat it after a dozen tries with the Su-25. Requires slowing down to like 300 kmph. The enemies at the end, probably just have to keep flying fast and prioritise railguns? Somehow worked out.

But felt the need for a checkpoint in the last mission too, it's just too long and there's too much explosion and railguns spam in the last stage. Died a couple of times and didn't have the patience to do it again, felt like i already got what the DLC has to offer.

Seriously. This mission isn't even the hardest tunnel run in Ace Combat series. If anything it's downright leasurely.

There's no timer, you can go as slow as you want and use yaw to get through most of the turns.

Just take SK.25 and enjoy hearing Eye Tee losing her mind. Honestly - comedy gold. :steamhappy:
Frankly, it's not a great mission. There's a reason why these tunnel missions in flight games are always the worst but I'll give advice. Near the end of the tunnel, as you run into the mass of enemies, get low and go slow. It sucks, I know. But once you finish the mission you never have to play it again.
