Yes you should get it.

This game’s good for sure. If you’re into space flight, try Star Wars Squadrons as well.

There is a roguelike mode where you go through regions in a map an clear it out and earn credits and prestige points, you can use that to buy new planes or build up an AI fleet to fight alongside you. Plus there's plenty of mods out there which are super easy to install. Also big bonus if you have a VR headset, can play the entire game in VR.

"Should I get this game?"
In short: if you've ever played Ace Combat and liked it then yes - by all means get it.

This has nothing to do with Tom Clancys's H.A.W.X or the mess that was Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.

This game is one bona fide arcade action packed flight "sim" that's breathing Action and dripping Ace Combat. And i mean this only in the best of ways

its a ace combat clone , with the exception the controls feel a little more realistic . hollywood ammo count and damage count also but its a fun game and if thats all your looking to do you will love conquest mode

Yes. The campaign is amazing, and it's got the Conquest mode, which would fit what you want for a skirmish mode.

Conquest is rough around the edges though. The campaign could easily be out of a AAA game, but Conquest is where the indie nature of the game really shows itself.

Just picked it up and I am playing with an Xbox controller, Quest 2, I7 GTX 1070, 32GB RAM and having a blast. Plays well via Oculus Link or Air Link. I have graphics cranked up, but my Quest frequency to 72ghz I believe. Things look somewhat blurry but the gameplay is a blast and once I edited my gamebox controls (easily btw) this is a great, arcadey and "Top Gun" Pilot bs'y game. Your team will crack you up with their stereotypical pilot banter and it's just easy to devastate right out the box. I give it a big win for under $20. Havent even tried without VR but I'm sure it would look even better.

Honestly it belongs right up there with the 'holy trinity' of Ace Combat games. In some regards, I find it straight up better than some of the AC games(Especially story wise. I don't know what the obsession is with Project Aces and the Gundam-tier plots with Peace-Princesses and cringy anime dialogue with cartoonishly heavy-handed pacifism in a game where you slaughter hundreds while your wingmen lecture you that war bad). Gameplay is right up there with AC4 and AC-Zero, and I'd argue the flight feels more weighty and responsive than in Ace Combat.

If you want to turn your brain off and just enjoy shooting stuff down and bombing everything, conquest is pretty darn respectable too. I'd definitely recommend it, I recently picked it up on sale myself and just finished the campaign today and it was definitely worth every cent. I honestly would have paid the asking price of an AC game on release and been satisfied if this was the product I got. More than I can say for Ace Combat 5 and 6 tbh.

I fly mainly DCS and Sturmovik sims in VR, but I found this game very entertaining and relaxing, definitely recommend it. And really hope they will add coop in the future.
