My issue was that I modded it. I disabled the mods and redownloaded the game. Works beautifully.

huh yeah that worked thanks. are all mods dead now though? cuz surely there's no way the skin mods can break the game so easily...

I only had "All planes 2 seaters" and it gave me the same issue. You'd be surprised how small of a file can cause complete collapse of a program. For the time being, your mods will probably not be usable until they are updated to the current build.

I don't use mods.
I bought the DLC and downloaded and installed the full game.
The game just won't open.

I got the same error, you can try the following and see if it works.
The game ran normally for me after doing this.

1. Go to local files, locate a folder named ProjectWingman and 2 files named Manifest_DebugFiles_Win64 and Manifest_NonUFSFiles_Win64.
2. Delete these files.
3. Verify game files integrity on steam after deleting the files.

Here are all the possible fixes I managed to find on the internet, keep in mind not every fix here will work and you should do them all first:

1. Verifying integrity of game (goes without saying but it did help me one or two times before)
2. Making sure you have all the dependencies installed, as in all the windows redistributables
3. Turning on Fullscreen mode and limiting fps to 60
4. Copying the game to an SSD, or an HDD if it's already on an SSD.
5. Installing the prequesities in the extras folder inside engine in the local game installation
6. Updating drivers
7. Deleting the ProjectWingman file in appdata/local

that sounds like the "this cat is named (brick pc command), put him in your linux terminal" type joke

You can't really brick it. When you verify the integrity of the game files, it re-downloads/re-installs whatever's missing anyways.

I bought the game after trying Pirate (Since I loved its gameplay and music), and it turns out that it doesn't open, it doesn't work, I tried all the possible solutions provided in this post and other posts, I really love the game but I can't play it even when I bought it...
