The epitome of greed
After 4 years, nearly half a decade, waiting for the game to be completed with all the things the dev wanted to add and was supposedly working on, suddenly we get some DLC we have to pay for and none of the other content that was promised.

If some people didn't fancy themselves friends of the dev (parasocial weirdos...), everyone would be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on this.

Credibility? Of the people just looking to have a sook at a dev for [insert fictional grievance here]?? Oh that's a laugh. Unhinged whinging at devs (because reasons) is par for the course on the modern day interwebz.

From what I remember, this game was a passion project based off of Ace Combat. It wasn't a wanting to be the beginning of a studio or anything like that. If the guy doesn't want to hire more help, there's no obligation for him to. If he breaks promises, that's also his choice. It's not an excuse to not want to hire more people. It's complicated as hell to have people work for you as well as a huge responsibility. If the guy doesn't want to do it, I don't see a problem with it.

Well maybe then he shouldn't ship an incomplete game, promise he'll work on it, and then vanish for four years.

If you are that poor, you shouldn't be playing games and make a living instead.

I won't be buying any new games from these people because of how they ignored the PC community and begged to PS. Just another company to avoid rip

damn thats crazy. the man with over 1000 games.

I guess i should be scared of the person who waste their time and money on games they never played or will play. They CLEARLY like the high chair of having a lot of toys and don't have actual toys they enjoy playing with to the point they get mad when other people have fun with those same toys.

Hm. I could understand the point you were making before, but now it's sounding a bit off the wall to be honest. A developer has to do the things that pay money, you can't necessarily sell a game at any price, let alone the price this shipped at, then run dev for 4 years out of your pocket to make free DLC.

Don't get me wrong, if a dev runs out of dev budget before it's perfectly rounded off that isn't great... but... if they manage to make a profit on other platforms, then come back to the original one able to update it and sell DLC, that's one of the best case scenarios. I can think of loads of games where I wish the developer had done this.

No idea what you are talking about, to be frank. I'm talking about leaving the game unfinished for years and then shoveling some DLC out the door and expecting people to eat it up (outside the dummies here).

You seem to think they should have kept working on the project for four years past the point where they shipped it, which is ...ok, you have your reasons, but also that they should not be selling ports or DLC in the meantime because it's immoral.

That's what I was talking about. "Keep doing dev work for literal years after the game went gold, also don't make money during that time because that's wrong".

If you want them to work more on the game, to as you say finish it, you would presumably like it to be possible for them to work more on the game, yes?

What is the rationale for not wanting them to be a functioning business, with this game as a going concern, if you want more work done on the game? Break it down for all the dummies you're apparently surrounded by.

The hell are you talking about, an incomplete game? I bought the game within the year it came out on Steam, with no knowledge of it outside of good reviews, and thought it was a great game. It was very much a finished product at release. Maybe they made some promises to the early backers that they never upheld, sure, but the game *is* a finished game. And it's a great one at that, especially for the price, and especially for how many people actually worked on it.
