The F-14 fanboys obviously say the F-14, but looking at things from a more logical perspective, I'd honestly think it more likely to be the F-18 or F-16, given that both Comic and Diplomat are flying single-seater general air superiority fighters. I'd think Monarch would naturally want to be in something with a bit more flexibility than the dedicated A2A platforms, just in case, what with them being a merc unit relatively frequently tasked to help out with ground battles.
That 15C has pretty limited options for ground pounding, and the 29 isn't really much better. So Monarch taking something that can do both roles pretty well, with Monarch's abnormal skill making up for the lack of specialization, makes more sense to me. It balances out Hitman team quite a bit.
Comic in the BVR supremacy unit via the 15c, Diplomat in the more agile, but less capable at range 29, and then you have Monarch in the 18, covering ground units while being capable enough to reinforce either of the other two without much being left on the table.
Now, whether it was a single seat legacy hornet or a 2-seat super hornet, is another thing entirely.
The official art isn't determinant either, sometimes showing a SU, sometimes a 15, sometimes a 14, etc. Given that Monarch and Hitman team pretty much carry the war, with Monarch in particular being a stupid capable and thus profitable pilot, I'd say he probably 'canonically' owns most the list.
