vs Ace Combat 7?
I liked how every mission in AC7 was very story driven, like that thunder storm, sudden new enemy that appears, or some unexpected events happening etc.
is PW kind of like that for every mission? Every mission was different in AC7 and i want more of that.

yes, because when PW started development, AC7 wasn't even announced, it's made from AC fans for AC fans. But remember it's a small team, not a whole studio.

Very similar. I have been a massive AC fan since 4 and when I tried PW for the first time, I actually prefer it now. I have a hard time going back to AC now after playing PW. You can carry more weapons than in AC and that made it a lot of fun. Everything about PW just seems better.

Side note, there is no animation for the story.

Oh did I also mention this game has VR support? You use an xbox or playstation controller while using your VR headset, that is the best experience I have had with this game as well. It took it to another level of immersion

I use the Valve Index plus a Saitek Rhino HOTAS.

I think it's solid enough. Story-wise, it isn't anything to write home about. It picks up around mission 15 and by that point, you only have 6 missions left. Prez is the only memorable character within the game and she's only available in a few aircrafts (two-seater).

Gameplay wise, it comes down to personal preference. Ace Combat 7 is vastly different from the PS2-era games as the jets feel heavier. There's still mobility with the use of high-G turns but you can tell it doesn't feel as responsive as the PS2 games.

Project Wingman tries to replicate the responsiveness from the PS2 games so jets feel more lightweight. There aren't necessarily any high-G turns that you could do but there is AOA (angle of attack) which could replace it. Typically the upper tier jets have these but you have to choose between AOA or flares.

Project Wingman is NOT beginner-friendly though. There are no checkpoints. If it's your first time playing, I would recommend playing on easy first.

i also bought virtual desktop but if im correct, VD is just a 2d monitor mirroring app?

There should be a SteamVR app for Quest users that lets you stream SteamVR games from your computer to your Quest headset. You just need really good wifi though.

I also use quest 3.
1) link quest 3 to your computer using a USB3.0+ cable
2) install and open meta app in your computer
3) choose the option to launch PW in Oculus
This works much more stable comparing to STEAM VR (at least for me), because streaming goes through the cable with this solution.
I just completed all missions in VR for first time and it was fantastic!

I'm currently replaying the game in VR with a HOTAS on hard mode and so far, the AI feels closer in difficulty to maybe AC5's normal. Enemies actually do a really good job at dodging.

Nothing too crazy though. In AC5, enemy AWACS were able to dodge missiles somehow.

Who needs a story when you're flying a cutting edge death machine at the speed of sound?

Everyone, apparently, since Ace Combat and Project Wingman are successful while H.A.W.X. rightfuly remains in the dustbin of gaming history.
