ETA for 2.0 Release?
I'm asking if there's an ETA for the full 2.0 release.

Considering the lack of communication between the devs and the players, I consider getting 2.0 at all to be unlikely, but I would not be surprised if it would be 2 years or more, considering how long ago it was from the last time they communicated and the time before.
Why are they ignoring us?

'Ignoring' *sigh* 🙄

There's little communication because they're tiny team with a high workload and no dedicated PR person/team. Is it ideal? No, but c'est la vie. Is it personal? No, of course not.

okay well maybe they're not. I was going by what allhorsenoplinko said. Is it really that hard for a small team to simply write a post?

Literally just get someone to say "Hey guys! We're not dead, just taking a bit, we're working on X, Y, and Z! We're not sure when it'll be out, but we're working on it!" Every 3-5 months and I'd be happy.

Where? Where did they announce Project Wingman 2? All I see is Frontline 59 which is a PS5 exclusive.
I think this guy is projecting. I've not seen ANY evidence of PW2.

He's not 'projecting'. He's saying the developers for the game are showing signs of common bad dev behavior. That is to say, HORRIFICALLY bad communication, launching product, promising updates that never get delivered, while in actuality they are putting all their resources toward another project, in effect abandoning the existing release, and then after that announcing a new project while giving up on trying to pretend they will continue support on the existing one.

SImple reminder: The xbox version of PW, to my understanding, is still utterly busted and broken in a million ways, yet instead of fix it's issues or deliver the promised updates for the original release platform, they went all in on developing NEW content for PS5, which is exclusive to it, and have only given a slapped together 'beta' that is supposedly for a more complete update than the earlier talked-up 1.5, but in actuality is missing a lot of the things slated for that update, and consists mainly of an unasked for rework of the cloud rendering and lighting that does little but reduce performance. It doesn't look better at the moment, it is subjective as to whether it is better or worse, at least when the graphics aren't bugging out.

Also, steamDB says last change to a depot was over 2 months ago in a dev depot titled 'arby's funhouse'. While they dropped a 2.0 'beta' that is full of very obvious bugs that prove no playtesting was done, that has gone 4 months now without an update, nor any communication whatsoever from the devs on NORMAL channels. I dunno, maybe one of them gave a one-liner on discord? Either way, they've given no communication and no indication whatsoever that they are even still working on things after tossing out that busted beta.

Just be patient. It's a two-man crew. I would rather wait for the perfect update than have them bum-rush a horrid update that ends up ruining the experience. Just look at Ready or Not, clearly it was not.

Also remember that they have to push out the update for consoles which just increases the workload.
JFC, how dense can the blind defense squad be?

'small team' is not an excuse for consistent ball-fumbling of even the most BASIC STANDARDS of communication and delivery on planned updates. The absolute flying spaghetti monster that is Toby Fox's code for Undertale (and presumably in Deltarune too) still got needed updates in reasonable timeframe, and Fox maintained communication with his community via newsletters sent out every three months, iirc.

FFS, it has been over 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years since the first of the promised bugfix updates that never materialized. Over 2 since they said they were working on 1.5 and were 'well on their way'. There is no 'be patient'. My patience, and that of quite a significant chunk of the community's, for that matter, EVAPORATED when it turned out that they hadn't actually been working on the planned content for all that time they had been silent, but had instead been working on exclusive ♥♥♥♥ for a third platform while abandoning the first two platforms. Xbox has never NOT been busted and broken, and even the PC version was left with pretty major glitches and bugs. Including some notable soft-locks and outright gamebreakers. VR was also left a mess, with desynced rendering of some types of assets, alongside other issues. Hell, some players couldn't even get the game to launch, and it was never figured out why.

Then, over 2 years down the line, what do we get? A slap-dashed, last minute beta update that doesn't even contain most the things they'd talked about wanting to get in as part of the 1.5 update. Oh, and the 'beta' is buggy AF to a degree that makes it very clear it was slapped together, what with outright softlocks in the menus, new glitches being introduced, and quite a few of the annoying older glitches still around. Oh, and some new render stuff that made the game more resource heavy, when it was already struggling under it's own weight in later stages of conquest mode. It's a coin flip as to whether you can even get the game to launch properly in the beta version, as for some people it's launching in VR mode when they don't have VR, or in standard mode when people want to VR.

I feel like you're blowing things way out of proportion here. While I haven't played the game much, so far of what I've experienced, it played fine.

Meanwhile, stop acting like a fat stinky gamer here. You're on the internet complaining your ass off in the discussions.
people like you are the problem...

excuses for everything.. no accountability.. happy to get your money taken for nothing in return...
these devs are 1 hair away from being actual scammers in my opinon...

but here you are acting like LYING TO PAYING CUSTOMERS is no big deal

i bet you also like when appel forbids people from repairing the stuff they paid for themselves..

disgusting

How, on gods green earth, is a FACTUAL accounting of the situation 'blowing things out of proportion'?

Then you turn around and admit you haven't played the game much. I got every achievement, and even suffered through the hell that is 'winning' conquest mode. I put nearly 100hours in, between replays of campaign and conquest. I was here before the game's kickstarter, pretty much since the game's first public tech demo, WAY back in the day.

I'm not here 'complaining' because I hate the devs and the game. If that was the case, I wouldn't be here at all. I love the game and want more. That more was stated to be coming, multiple times, yet the devs flaked on it. The devs made the CHOICE to do an exclusive for Sony with new content, while leaving the other 2 platforms in a sub-par state, with PC in particular not getting the promised patches, while Xbox is just a complete dumpster fire in many ways.
I don't hate the devs, I'm disappointed. Because I KNOW they can do better, be better. Instead, I've been let down over and over again. I loved the game before it's kickstarter was a thing. I followed it in development since the first demo, pre-kickstarter. The game has literally been waiting for the promised 1.5 update almost as long as it took to go from Kickstater launch, to full release. It's not helped by people who came in late trying to claim it's fine and go 'just be patient' to people who HAVE been patient. Who came in after the fact and sit there making excuses that those of us who were there since the start KNOW are full of crap. Who bend over backward to try to excuse developer actions which don't really have a valid justification.

The ones I have a problem with, are mindless yes men like you, who attack any person with any level of criticism and have no standards. Developers don't improve, when their community isn't able to communicate with them because they get buried by fanboys who excuse everything and have ZERO knowledge of things to begin with. They get stuck in bad patterns when toxic positivity rewards them for sub-par decisions and buries criticism. This is part of why regular communication is both important, and not something that should be happening solely in the walled garden that is Discord, where it is VERY easy for toxic positivity to utterly bury criticism.

Mind you, this isn't even addressing the utter lunacy of you turning around and going for direct personal attacks because you have no capability to handle criticism that wasn't even aimed at you, while acting like the other person is being unreasonable.

Would the developers please clarify what's going on, with evidence that serious work is being conducted to finish the beta in a reasonably satisfactory manner?
