The TrackIR Thread
Please support TrackIR!

Unfortunately, we're not really looking into implementing TrackIR on release or anytime soon.

I did notice that the SDK is now free to use since August this year, which makes it easier for us to investigate in the future before committing to anything.

Now that the game is out and I can try it, using that FreePIE script on page 1 of this thread actually works rather well and only requires that one program, you don't need to combine it with vJoy or any other software (which other games often need in order to force TrackIR functionality). That being said, native TrackIR support would still be a nice feature for a future update just to make it completely self-contained.

I don't have webcam (no, not gonna buy one) so I can't use the above FreePIE method...

I've tried mouse emulation inside TrackIR folder (TIRmouse.exe), but no luck. I can get it worked to move the cursor in desktop, but can't move camera in game (cockpit view). Anyone happened to make it work?
You don't need a separate webcam for that FreePIE script. Just set up TrackIR for camera control like normal (I use the same profile as I do for DiRT and DCS World), run the script, and it converts your input so that Project Wingman natively accepts it. Thankfully, it's much simpler and better than I thought it would be based on my past attempt to follow the TrackIR workaround tutorial for Ace Combat 7.

When you support TrackIR, I will consider buying. Until then, no thanks.

Well if you can't be arsed to do something as simple as TrackIR support, I can't be arsed to spend money on your game.

Am I missing something? I'm running the script in FreePIE as posted and the diagnostics show movement, but nothing happens in-game.

[EDIT] Ah, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up. That's why.

There is a bug in game.
The option to enable freetrack is not showing up. It will only work if you had it enabled in the demo. The devs know about it now I think

you mean you have to download the demo separately just to enable the freetrack there?

You could but the setting appears to be stored in a savegame file, so it might affect progression if you have already started the campaign/conquest

That's too bad. In that case, I'm sure you know there are people that aren't really looking into purchasing your game anytime soon.

I would have bought this tonight if my TrackIR was supported. I guess I'll check back... sometime... :p

I quit AC7 because meh... Bandai doesn't care hardcore PC fan. Then I heard this game will support TrackIR later, so I followed years ago. Please don't let me down. This definitely be "AC killer"

Same here I'm used to use TrackIR and it feels for me as one of my senses where disabled, also the clouds need some work

Too bad, the game looks like fun. I'll come back when/if they add Track IR.
