So is Cordium basically Tiberium?
Almost every time it's mentioned and presented, I get TIberium flashbacks.

Also wondering if maybe, instead of ye old boring cancer radiation, it just makes people go absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane from being around it.

I fail to see similarities other than it being magic.

It is not a plant, it is not alien, it does not terraform, abd it doesn't turn people and animals into mutants. As far as we know.

Cordium is a valuable natural resource that emerged on Earth following the Calamity, used as an energy source. It is a crystalline mixture of dielectric materials, native metals and poorly understood anomalous compositions produced in the Earth's deep mantle.

Cordium can be extracted from geothermal and magma fields, but is difficult and dangerous to mine due to its volatile nature. A mishandled cordium shipment led to the destruction of the Cascadian city of Solstitium, leading to strict mining regulations.

During the Cascadian Conflict, the Pacific Federation was successful in weaponizing cordium, but its deployment resulted in devastating tectonic cascade effects.

Thats from the archive ingame on cordium. Its compareable, the dev probably got the inspiration from Tiberium in some way.

You can safely say it is and it isnt at the same time.

Man. It may not turn people into lunatics or zombies, but "devastating tectonic cascade effects" is a pretty horrifying phrase.

It is an effectively magical substance which has a double edge in that it has said cascade properties. In particular, it has properties which allow it to trigger "critical mass" type events without immediate proximity like most fissile materials, but which are only present under certain conditions too (thus it is sometimes able to actually trigger these effects).
