Can't Get Logitech Extreme 3D Pro to work, help please.
I've been trying to get my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro to work with the game, and nothing is working for me. It has worked for other games (Star Wars Squadrons and Ace Combat 7) but not in this one, It doesn't register any clicks or movements when I try to map the keys. I have tried:
Editing the .bat files as some have suggested
Disabling the Steam Direct Input in properties
Messed with the steam controller settings
I can't find any other fixes that work. Is there something I'm missing and haven't tried or should I wait for an actual patch?

Never ever use steam emulator and do any controller setting in steam, because roll back this setting is hard.
Disable Steam Direct Input is not enough.
You must first make steam detect your joystick as a logitech extreme and not as a generic or xbox controller. I achieved this by hiding this generic controller in the steam settings, which represents my joystick. I restarted the whole computer. Then the game was able to recognize my joystick and I was able to set the axes and buttons in the game.

Thank you. I had previously messed with it and it was reading my Logitech as an Xbox Controller. I Restarted my computer with my Logitech plugged in and it fixed it. Steam read it as the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I was able to map controls ingame using the stick.

I'm having a really similar issue with my x52 but when I restarted my PC to re-register it, steam still sees it as a generic flight stick.
Any advice?

I tried this but still no luck. Just came back as "generic gamepad: Flight Stick."

I also struggled with it for quite a long time and tried everything possible. I thought that hiding the device worked, but maybe I was just lucky and somehow it came back. I don't want to try it again.

I'm sorry could you please clarify: did you managed to hide the controller from Steam (so Steam is not temper with the joystick any more) or did you managed to make Steam to recognise the joystick as it is? I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro too, and the game is totally ignorant to any of its inputs whatever I do. Are you running Logitech Profiler ? That's a config program of this joystick, capable to map buttons to keystroke. I'am not sure the profiler necessary for the joystick, or it's on the way - it was perfect for Ace Combat 7.

My Logitech Extreme 3D Pro was showing up as a generic xbox controller, and hiding the device didn't help for me.

I was able to get it working following the steps here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/8qyhs5/want_to_reset_steams_controller_settings_heres_how/

• Disable all Controller Support Options • Exit Steam and unplug the controller • Open the config.vdf file stored on your computer • • By default it is located in - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\config.vdf • Search for "SDL_GamepadBind" and delete everything underneath it • Save the file • Start Steam and plug in the controller

After that it was showing up as a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I was able to set up the controller in game. Hope that helps.
Came in to say that editing the config.vdf did the trick for me. Steam recognized one of my sticks as an xbox gamepad, but after editing the config, it's properly recognized as a flight stick and bindable in-game.

Exact same story here, nothing worked until I edited the config. At that point it stopped showing up as an Xbox gamepad and was recognized correctly as a Logi joystick

Latest Steam Client update made the Extreme 3d Pro undetectable as a controller. Again. I've tried everything and can't get it to detect. Any suggestions?

Came here looking for this. I'm glad I'm not the only one. My 3D Pro has been working for a long time then a few days ago Steam stopped detecting it. Tried all kinds of fixes but nothing has worked so far...

I even opened a support request with Steam asking them to undo whatever they did to render the Extreme 3D Pro undetectable. They replied that they can't help debug 3rd party hardware, but try messing with controller settings in Big Pic Mode. Expecting settings to help when it won't even detect is pretty much lunacy. Guess I'll have to get use to using a gamepad style controller, I have a couple of them that detect. Thanks for nothing Steam!

Same here. I have been trying to get Steam to even detect x3d and nothing works. If everyone sends to support with issue, even if they pass it off as 3rd party hardware problem, maybe it will get someone to look at it.
