How to Start Game with Index?

I am having trouble setting up the game for VR. I have mapped all my HOTAS controls, but I can't access the menu from my VR controller or by using buttons on my joystick. Is it possible to control the menu using my joystick/pov hat? It won't recognize the Index VR controller either. I can't start the game in VR and I'd rather not take off the headset every time I need to push a button or look through the menu.

I also noticed the view isn't centered and the only choice is to use a gamepad or keyboard to fix this. Is there a way for me to sit down with the headset and my joystick, maybe the index controller, and get to everything I need?

I think the only menu input right now is mouse and keyboard, or standard gamepad controller? The index "wands" aren't controllers in that sense, and hotas I think only applies for in flight

you need to press C (or V maybe) once in game to get the menu to center. Then you point your head at the Start button (look for the dot) and click Left Mouse Button to activate (in all menus)

Numpad 5 and Spacebar respectively for me.

I'm guessing you've never learned touch typing? Home row keys? Etc?

I had to plug in a mouse that I can click the button while I'm in the VR chair. You can click the mouse button for the main start, but you have to click the keyboard space bar for the end of briefing and then you can use the joystick to finally enter flying. Why can't I map a joystick to do all three? Annoying.

Look at the thing you want to select and press the space bar.
Press Esc to pause while in-game.

You should be able to find those keys while in VR.

The UI in VR needs a LOT of love, but you should be able to get into the game using just those. Once you select Launch and actually start the mission, you won't need the keyboard again until the mission is over and you're at the scoreboard.
