LOL.. well.. I am glad I "didn't know"... LOL....
I bought it, installed it, Played it, recorded it...
And.. Enjoyed it... pffft..lol
I forgive you, great video btw.
Thank you kind sir.. The Quest 2 is truly the poor mans VR.. that works..;-)
wireless PCVR is the way to go. anything else just feels last gen now.
I know right... WHY be tethered unless you just sit at the computer... I can see good reason to have a system that does "both"...
Other standalone or virtual desktop are just fantastic.
Went from a rift s to quest 2 and feels like a massive upgrade.
Almost bought an index, so glad I didn't.
Yep.. tethered is fine for games like this and IL-2, DCS, Microsoft Flight Simulator(sooner or later).. etc etc.. but wireless is the way to go for a lot of Shooters and everything else.. can't be beat..
It is hard to invest more money than 300.00 when the Quest 2 does so well.. that is not knocking the others.. which some have nice stats for a "cost".. yet they still have "issues", one being no wireless or high cost attached to make it wireless.. it just means they have to bring on a better game at a better price point.. the Quest 2 really does feel "Next Gen" in all that it currently offers and there is talk currently of 120hz possibly coming to the headset.. unless they hold it for the Quest 3, which will probably blow everyone clear out of the game if they don't step up... those deep pockets that invested in Oculus are something to reckon with.. and these Indie titles are taking a chunk out of the big boy game creators as well..
And i bought specifically for the upgraded resolution, and i purchased the link cable as well, as i m using it not for its lame facebook social games crap, but for flight simulators and racing simulators..
Trying to work this out between Facebook, and Oculus\FAcebook customer support, and the fact that ill be damned if i ever send facebook a selfie of myself with my passport info, here is a testimonial to balance out the "glowing reviews" and that its not all rainbows and ponies over in the Quest 2 land with its Facebook Zucklords forcing compliance to adherence of an app that has the sole function of invading one's privacy to obtain that sweet sweet digital gold. This is an app that I personally wouldnt find myself having a need for or a desire to have any association with, and so the Quest 2, and its relevance for flight simulators such as this specific game, and others like it, while an upgrade and the only wireless VR out there it has a major caveat and flaw, and perhaps dealbreaker.
Also, to be clear, when using the Quest 2 with this game or any game on your PC, you will need to be wired to your PC, however, with a bit more hacking and knowledge there is an app which you can use to wirelessly link to your PC, however Ive heard that rolling wireless when playing flight simulators, I think the example was ED, that there is a pretty decent lag, which of course disappears once you connect it to the PC..
So thats my 2 cents on the Quest 2, and flight simulators such as this one.
edit: And this is after ive supported oculus VR since the kickstarter, and already owned the oculus Rift, and have an oculus rift account. I was under the impression that since i already had an oculus account, I wouldnt have to merge it with FB account, until 2023 but its simply not true.
Also, sorry OP this is off-topic, but it also kinda isnt, because VR was the reason many people would buy a game like this.
Yep.. a bit off topic.. it wasn't a rag on any maker of a device.. just the performance in the game.. anyways.. $800? that's a lot of bells and whistles for a 300.00 headset.. almost "Unbelievable" .. and as much as you go off on Zuck and FB, I am kinda surprised you bought one to begin with.. sounds more like a hate than a dislike.. and the things you mentioned.. they already said you would need.. new device.. FB account.. anyways.. I surely don't use FB , just enough to keep it active..for a few in family.. and always buy games on Steam in case I change VR headset at a later date. A bit of common sense goes a long way.. like make sure you don't have a FB account you may have "forgot" about... and read the rules... don't assume anything.
This is the first mission Black Flag and was done on the 2D Monitor instead of in VR.. looked around in the settings and set to HIGH and FOV to 90... here you can tell, if you are looking for it.. none of the dash gauges work.. this is no simulator.. and not meant to be.. it's all for looks only and the game is totally played in the HUD.. expected for an Arcade game like this.. I doubt your team helps you as well.. least what I have seen in this first mission.. but it all ran very smooth... and was a nice fun experience..

i am getting horrendous performance :(
Think SteamVR is the culprit.. seems Oculus VR launch is pretty solid.. dunno..
