Not sure where you're stuck exactly, so I'll spoiler it in steps.
You need to find the middle of Dormenkhort, the city square.
The only way to access it is by going around the whole city, then heading northwest from the middle dock map.
When you are in the city square, you will have an encounter with Duke Camersolt. There is a "door" underground in the middle of the map, where the giant hole is. It's a set of steps leading underground. You should see it if you have the door indicators enabled.

Thanks. Was trying that but it wasn't working for some reason. Does now though.

Edit: What am I supposed to do in the room with the shadows and statues? I killed all the former but nothing happens.

It's the statues you need to concern yourself with. In the beginning, when you step into the middle of the room, pay close attention to the shadows of the statues surrounding you.

Got it. Done now. Thanks to you and Zoid for helping speed the walkthrough along. Loved the non traditional "last boss" btw.

Congratulations, and thank you!

Okay, i've been doing the bone collector quest and so far, i've gotten the bones and the magic stone to guy to the mausoleum, watched die from some skeleton who told me to get a scroll for a portal to underworld. I went to the chroniclary and retrieved the portal to the howling plains scroll and brought it to the skeleton but no dialogue pop ups. Is this glitch or did i pick the wrong scroll?

Wrong scroll, unfortunately!

Hey, I just got to the very end of the game, defeated all three of the final bosses and Camersolt, and I couldn't figure out where to go from there. No quest changes, nothing, so I went back to the Fate Spike and now the bosses have respawned. Where am I supposed to go to finish the game?

Ah, sorry that you missed where you were meant to go, must be frustrating to have to fight through the bosses again.

When you enter the chamber with Camersolt, there's an area flashing green/red/purple in the middle. As you defeat each of the bosses, one of the colours stops flashing. When you've defeated all of them, you can jump in to the pit that is now cleared.

I'll be honest, I am lost, and I need to find some quests to get a mortar and pestel. I ended up getting 2 ropes, even though I don't think have a use for those (since I gave the dragon the egg, and had the bounty hunter lower me down). One of the ropes was from the astral plane, the other was when I foolishly gave the wealth to a drunkard instead of using it to bribe the judge

Hey! There are a lot of quests available that could get you the mortar and pestle. I don't know which ones you have completed, so I'll list some ideas. Hopefully at least one of them will give you an idea of what to do, but if you've completed them all let me know.

Spoilers ahead - obviously!

"Crab man" in Trawadh
The chest beyond the unnaturally hot flame in the Corpah Core
Helping the besieged man in the early parts of The Rusts
Putting up a turret to protect the statue east of the court in the grasslands
Putting up a scarecrow for the farmer east of the statue
Setting a trap in the paddock of another farmer to the east of the statue
Giving a cloak to the freezing woman in the Tarmackan Taiga
A rolling rock puzzle in the eastern part of the temple on Corpah Range
The brittle rock in Shimmergem Coast
The sleepy giant in the Dragonfly Fen

Like someone mentioned earlier, I used the duke's diary to get one of the books from the Chroniclary. Now I'd like to get the charts next but all the books I'm finding are artisanry tomes. Are there other books I could use instead or would I have to sacrifice the ability to use a particular artisan if I want to get everything the Chroniclary offers?

There is one more non-artisan book you can find: It's Old Mother's journal, and it's located in the Sowoal Rootlands.

Any hint for how to repair that navigator? I'm guessing the silent scientist has something to do with it

So - I think you're on the right track by mentioning a scientist but I'll stagger some hints anyway.

You want to be in the Sowoal Rootlands.

In the factory, more exactly.

In the first area of the factory is a scientist. Speak to him and repairing it will be a dialogue option (this is a bit different to the convention in the rest of the game - that's my bad!).

Once repaired, show the repaired navigator to Bracs.

Hope this helps, let me know if not.

Ah, I think I see. I've already repaired the ship and was wondering if there was some additional technical piece I had to repair to clear the "conquering the skies" quest. I like the game BTW, despite a few slightly confusing interface quirks like this. I really like the sort of "quests puzzle" you've set up, where completing quests different ways determines how you can complete others (only bad part of course is not always knowing there's other quests that might need the things you're currently using). (Guess that tkinda turned into a review ha)

Nevermind, I actually hadn't taken the navigator from Bracs in the Rootlands entrance, ha!
