Engine Hoist/Lift, engine parts and upkeep with crafting
allow us to use an engine hoist/jack/lift as a workbench which replace the current vehicle upkeep of oil, spark plugs and mechanic toolbox to being an upkeep of being metal scrap (just like the base upkeep of metal sheet).
having us be able to maintain our vehicles the same way we maintain our weapons by allowing us to open the bonnet and replace spark plugs/ top up oil, any more severe damage (such as engine block) can be repaired by the mechanic toolboxes v3) which can be crafted as the mechanic workstation with sheet metal spark plugs, oil (also allowing us to create different repair kits/toolboxes from v1, v2, v3 (same as the weapon repair kits), which needs duct tape, wire, spare parts, circuit boards depending on if the vehicle (hunter 4x4, bike, boat) and level of repair (v1, v2, v3).
rare parts could be sought for the vehicles we have, such as engine upgrades (carburettor, rods, piston, valves, even the possibility to find/repair other engines like the UMP 421 to make the hunter 4x4 go a little faster as an upgrade, blocks, sparks plugs etc to find for rarer engines with possibility of having the roar and purr of even rarer v8 engines found in bunker vault mechanic workshops, etc)...allows us to be attached to the vehicles whilst enduring the hardships.
tyres could also be utilised as a form of maintenance and brings rubber into a resource and have a more realistic approach to when enemies are firing at the vehicle, flat tyres repaired by tyre repair kits crafted at the mechanics workstation, rubber created by shredding tyres in the metal shredder, giving scrap metal and rubber when hub is attached allowing us to make hoses which we can use to siphon vehicles and tanks (so two half tanks can be a full tank and that tanks can be filled when taken from abandoned vehicles.
Truly love this game, truly well done and keep going.

I agree with the idea of this. But I think you are adding too much complexity.

A service station to work on the vehicle.
Maintenance requires scrap.
Open the hood and place oil / spark plug - Those items would have durability loss
Fuel the vehicle to keep it moving
Repair requires things such as lights / duct tape / toolbox

And you can only repair with a blowtorch up to 60%. Need a service station to repair to 100%, either in safe zone or base.

It's more complex, but far more manageable. And much more likely that the developers change a system where they don't need to create a bunch of new items.
