Questions About Renting a Server
Can you change things like amount of loot and cargo drops, etc., for a low pop server?

Also, are the "Gamecloud Slots" (as referred to on Gportal) simply the number of players? So if you have 20 slots, it can house up to 20 separate players?

I notice I can manually enter numbers lower than 20, and it brings the price down significantly, but I haven't followed through on a payment, so I was wondering if it's actually possible to do something like a 1 slot cloud (if I'm correct in assuming slots = players).

Thanks in advance for any help.

There are sliders and stuff for the different events. Whether they DO anything, that is up for debate. I put my convoy slider to 200% cuz I wanted way more convoys, it made less than 0 difference on the frequency of the convoys showing up.

Setting loot to 50(max setting), will ensure that any little black loot box that can spawn in the world, does. It also puts loot in all the spots loot can be, so theres alot of crap laying around. Whether it makes rarer stuff show up more is up for debate as well....

You cant reduce the count below 20(Believe me, yeah, I wanted it lower for the exact same reason, price). I didnt suspect 20 people would play on my serve,r its a PVE server anyway, so I only wanted like 4 or 8 slots, but nope...20 is the minimum. I wish they would change that.

My first G-portal server was 5 slots, Then it quit working and needed to raise it to 20. Ive had 10 people get on but never any more. Seems like 5 or 10 should be enough. Any other games require 20?

I didn't realize at the point of asking that within the game you can limit it to one slot. For me it wasn't as much about the money as it was wanting a true single player situation.

I'd like to add, if anyone is reading who is on the fence about "trying out renting a server", that it's super painless and gives you a nice amount of control over the game without allowing you to become super OP. As a one time fee of $20, I feel I've already got my money's worth by not having to share the map or compete with other players, knowing I can switch back at any moment.
