2 issues with bases and vehicles
I come to understand that upkeep on base and vehicle could drop randomly. Fully stocked storage and vehicle module, logged off and returned 10 hours later. Car was decaying and some parts of the base lost some hp. This is on pve btw so no player interaction involced. SUV continued to take dmg until i opened the mechanics workbench. Bench had all items for 24 more hours.

It's known. I imagine it will be fixed next update.

I really hate this new system of base building.🤦🏽‍♀️ One of my bases literally got robbed of my shelves and content, I had upgraded my base to wood and had the resource chest full to the brim with planks, 900+ to 1.K of planks. When i got back to this base, ALL of my shelves with supplies were gone, all I had left was the water collector, the metal recycler and that stupid red tool chest to keep ur bike that you have to feed all the time. 😱🤢😫
Why the frik does a stick structure have to decay anyway when you have stick structures in survival camps that never decay? This decay crap is so FUBAR, you can only keep ur base and vehicles for so many days then poof they're gone regardless of how much you put into those stupid resource chests.😠 There is no point to having a base and vehicles this way to me with timers on them, NOT FUN. Too much of a struggle to keep them and a waste of my time to boot.🤢🤮 Looks like i'm going back to my old fave game where you can build bases and keep vehicles without worrying about them decaying and disappearing, and you can re-spawn in or near ur base if you die.😉😆👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Bugs aside. The decay rate will get balanced.

The whole point is that you can't build a huge base on your own and be able to stock the entire base endlessly with gear unless you do the required farming in order to keep the base,

You are frustrated that it's hard. And I don't understand how you could possibly think that. As I think it's WAY too easy.

Go outside and find a bush. Endless branches.
Go outside and find a tree + axe. Endless Logs.
Craft a generator + fuel + wood planar. Endless Planks.

The only things that really require you do to any real work are metal sheets. As you need to go outside of your base to find scrap and rebar to put into a metal planar. But the upkeep requirements are so low, that you could build a 7x7, 3 floors.. and still need 100 metal sheets or less a day.

We shouldn't be able to farm a years worth of upkeep in an hour of farming. Right now it's WAY too easy to get your upkeep.
I just found if i dont build a mechanics workbench, car decay is almost negligable. Decay starts when you build and place one.

Just logged into the PVE server I been learning to play on and all my walls had gone. Pretty sure i left it with like 9 days worth of decay left.
My only complaint is the vehicle upkeep. It's very easy to keep your base from decaying. Mine is mostly metal and it's good for 2 months. On the other hand, if I want to keep a jeep at my base for 24 to 48 hours I need to farm bunkers for mechanic boxes all day as they are not in every bunker. You need lots of farmed grenades to farm the bunkers due to the crazy auto turrets. It's not a fun game loop over and over. It's better to just place a sleeping bag at the airfield, suicide every morning to that bag and grab a jeep for the day.
Yep, running simulator should be tweaked into a more friendly experience "lack of cars and hard to maitain them"

I agree. Bunkers are terribly un-fun. It's a bad game loop.

Bunkers should be larger and include strong AI and turrets.

This isn't DayZ. They are following RUST when it comes to base maintenance.
Either increase vehicle spawn and locations, reduce maintenance costs, or disable cars being destroyed by water. But at least one should be implemented.

Here we go again - PvP allstars need easy to raid bases so they can shine. Why don't you frustrated Tarkov Losers not leave us alone? We don't need you here!

Your response is nonsensical.

It has nothing to do with base mainenance.

I still dont get why my car is decaying slower when its away from my base. I also believe their focus on territorial pvp will backfire in the end you can build a huge perimeter around your build area and become virtually unraidable for the cost of 30minutes of wood chopping

From my testing, it's my understanding that when a vehicle is not near a base anywhere on the map {including the safe zones} it doesn't decay at all (only taking normal damage from use, like hitting things, getting shot at, etc.) Instead, the health of the vehicle will remain the same without decay and just despawn after 30 minutes of not being used (driving or even a player interacting with the vehicle, like getting in but not driving, or open the inventory, the despawn timer will reset).

When the vehicle is near a base it will decay ONLY if there are not enough spark plugs and oil in the base's vehicle toolbox to continue maintaining it; this gives you more than the normal 30 minute despawn time as it decays to restore it's health with repair kits and/or add spark plugs and oil to your vehicle toolbox to maintain before it explodes and despawns. Obviously, the more vehicles you have in/near your base, the more resources it takes to maintain them. Otherwise, the vehicle will maintain its current health level with enough oil and spark plugs. In fact, I've never seen the vehicle toolbox restore a vehicle to full health, just maintain it's current health level, you must use a torch/vehicle repair kit on it to increase it's health.
