can i play this single player
It looks fun but I don't have anyone to play with. Can you solo?

Yes. on a PVE server you can play solo.
I usually play solo when I play this game.

Oh cool. Why isnt anyone playing this game? it seems so underrated from what ive seen so far

I think the player base has dwindled mainly because the development is excruciatingly slow.
Also as it is still (after all this time) early access the wipes when updates do come along also put players off. That said it is a very small dev team.

Add to that the somewhat indecisive nature of recent changes nerf / buff / nerf again and many players just gave up.

Ive certainly had my moneys worth from it and do still enjoy certain aspects of it - but to be honest i dont see the game going too much further..
