How does storage work in safe zones?

I only ask because I am 100% positive I placed something in storage at a safezone and when I got back (I am sure I died a few times while I was out there) the item was gone.

put stuff in, take stuff out. Stuff is specific to that safe zone.

Ahhhh so its not like a "all in 1" storage? If I put stuff in the north, its not avail in south then.

That would explain something missing.

also you can build a base and a giant crate that needs three scrap metal and some wood. it has massive storage compared to the safezones. its where i store all my stuff.
Make sure its closed off FROM ALL SIDES tho.

I think so, at least till the server gets wiped. Personally, I would just build a small base, easy.
