Base Building Restrictions

Have you ever tried to build a base? Running around all over the map with the land claim sign in front of your nose hoping it will turn from red to green? Please attach a switch to turn off base building restrictions for this server or make them at least very much less restrictive.

yeah buildings gonna need alot more work.
but claim sign placement needs to stay away from bases ROADS villages everything.
u can monitor the top of screen for messages, if ur too close to something it will say must be away from x x x, and if u can place claim sign it will say place on terrain or objects. Objects? huh?, anyways,that looks to me to be about 300m. away from things.
and u cant place water collector or base boxes on a platform they have to be on the ground only, so I see alot of people just build a cabin, no surrounding fence, but u cant put your big base boxes inside so they would be outside cabin in the open,
ORR a little stash box inside or even near base.
so u build a cabin on scaffolding, then cant put anything inside it. great. wtf..

but finding a spot for that claim sign is just the beginning of ur building woes..

I've been trying for 3 days to put up the claim sign and even though I'm in the middle of nowhere it doesn't turn green.

Evandrus, Are you adjusting the height of the claim sign? Try lowering it or raising it as you move around. As to the water catcher you can build them in your base or outside. I initially build them outside until I have my specific room built to put the water catcher along with the work bench and creates in. The stashes (the box with 9 storage compartments) cannot be built within 150 meters of your base or anyone else's.

oh thats another thing when placing anything- walk around in a circle an spin the object also with L an R mouse, it seems things only place when your looking in some direction not others,, like I had to back up against the base wall to place the water collector because looking the other way trying to place it it wouldnt go green. weird

and for where u can place it, today I placed a claim an started chopping wood, an I started getting shot at- from a road an village nearby.
now why did it let me place the claim there that close to road/village where Im getting shot at, or do those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hear really far away?

After I posted I tried again and I managed to do something where I hadn't managed to do it yesterday. But I did exactly the same thing as yesterday...

Today I did it, but I did it exactly the same way as yesterday. And while I was building I also started getting shot.

I still built there by that road. an stayed. i put watchtowers front an rear looking out over the road the npc's had attacked me from before.. now in base I can hear them on walkie, I go up in tower, an pick em off. its good fun

There are roads you can claim land right next to it, and there are roads whre you can't claim land even hundrets of meters away. There is nothing but roads, no POIs or anything and you can't claim land. Yes I know you can raise and lower the land claim sign using shift and left mouse, that's not the point. The point is, that the restrictions don't make any sense as they work in totally different ways depending on where you are on the map. Between the southern light house and the green zone for example you sometimes can build really close to a road and sometimes you can't. WTF? In the area around Kamensk you can't build anywhere on a brand new server - freshly wiped. But you can build quite close to Kimik, maybe 100 m away. After all it's still early access and they will surely fix stuff like this some day.

tried this whole area, couldnt stake a claim some of it may have to do with terrain, but its wacky some places can build close to stuff others u cant.
it also says not anywhere near 'CRATES' so there may be crates stashed in some of those spots u thought u should be able to not near anything. thats where Id stash a crate- look around got that thingy pings for buried crates?
