the other reason is TOXICITY in PVP some players just dont enjoy playing against toxic people that will cyber bully and harrass other players its not that they "cant handle it" or "need to get thicker skin" its just that they dont want to waste thier time and energy on toxic people that dont deserve their time and energy, the whole reason people play games is to relax and have fun and when you play a game that has these little grubs in the chat constantly acting like tough guys when in reality they are not tough at all they are usually just complete losers with personal issues that they hide behind by acting this way then no one wants to waste their time dealing with these little grubs so they just avoid them and prefer to play on a PVE server, again this is because people want to enjoy the game, not talk crap to a 13 year old noob with a potty mouth that has been raised by bad parents.
theres 2 reasons why alot of players just prefer to play on PVE servers and its not just in this game its in many games these days, take Tarkov for instance since PVE mode came out for Tarkov alot of players are enjoying that mode more than the normal mode because they dont lose to cheaters anymore in PVE mode, its just more fun to play against well made AI opponents than it is to play against toxic players that use cheats and hacks.
just because you prefer PVP mode doesnt mean everyone should agree with you people will play whatever mode suits them and all people need to do is respect other gamers and live and let live, if you enjoy PVP more then thats great go play PVP, if you enjoy PVE more then thats great go play PVE, there really is no need to discuss why one is better than the other because thats not true both modes are good for their own reasons and both modes have pros and cons. just play what you enjoy and let others play what they enjoy.
this is not directed at anyone personally im just explaining to everyone that these are the main reasons why players are shifting towards PVE alot more these days
PVP = toxic
PVE = friendly and cheerful
PVP is simply toxic high lvl players slay bambis and get an orgasm by killing noobs again and again. There is no need for those peoples because they are toxic as hell. The like you w
And that is one other reason why players left the PvP. With a limited amount of time to play your progress gets destrpyoed by people like you, so starting over again and again is nothing what makes fun at all.
3 factions: Scavs, Military and Survivors.
Each PoI is broken down into a large scale areas with battlefield style control zones, with the middle or some major landmark of the PoI being what you have to control to take it over. Once taken over, AI allies of whichever faction controls it moves in and secures it and holds it against attack. Will also fight in case its attacked again.
Then each PoI adds a different faction benefit, like a town will give the faction free bundles of house and crafting materials every couple hours.
A Military base will give free ammo of different calibers and weapon/armor parts for repair.
Factory facilities will give you cost reductions and resource reductions for building/reparing.
A City gives your faction bonus AI soldiers defending the PoI as well as access to the hospital which gives you better passive regen
etc....just random off the wall thoughts.
Now that ratting is a legit play style there is really no desire for me to run in only to be killed by someone sitting in a corner just waiting for someone to walk by.
On the other hand cheaters are really just ruining it these days to be honest. Take The Cycle: Frontier for example, a game with really good potential now dead because the devs couldn't handle the cheating problem. Tarkov has crazy cheater issues that they cannot seem to control either.
Tell me what is the incentive for you to play PvP? Is it because you cheat to feel good about yourself?
Edit:
Come to think of it I was just on Loafs Bakery the other day only to die to some dude hiding in a house waiting for someone to fight the AI.... real fun stuff huh... good thing I had just spawned in and then quit playing once I died to the rat.
I am not a great PvP player when it comes to survival games, but PvP in survival games makes the experience 100% better and couldn't imagine playing Deadside in a PvE only environment. Usually when a game offers both PvE and PvP option, I always go with PvP, even if I get dumped on. I can accept that there's going to be other players who are more skilled than I am.
Wish more players were open to the idea of accepting that they are not the best player in the server instead of just skipping PvP all together.
PvP servers forces players to become a better player and play differently than PvE. I don't see the fun in only fighting A.I and doing missions without the threat of other players.
PvE in games like this shouldn't even be an option; force everyone into a PvPvE environment.
Not every PvP player is toxic. In a full server, it's a handful of players.
That's what makes survival games fun.
Don't see the fun nor the excitement in PvE in survival games.
I miss the days in gaming where players took PvP as challenge to get better instead of just giving up.
RUST also pushes 150k daily players. Pretty obvious PvE only survival games appeals to a far less smaller crowd in the grand scheme of player count.
IDC. I couldn't imagine playing any open world survival game in PvE only over PvPvE.
Not anywhere near as fun, intense or challenging.
Missions are what gets you better gears, no matter pvp or pve.
You really can't blame there are players, lots of them. Who does not want to live on their toes even playing a game.
You want to be competitive hunting other humans, good, if that's your thing. But pve has it's own challenges for those who enjoy it.
Deadside isn't really a SURVIVAL game. No survival game will give you a free pistol and ammo when you walk in any random houses.
