How rare are these? Got a bearing finder and have been waling around for a while and the thing hasn't made a sound

I wondered that too - is it actual players loot stashes or are they game generated stashes - so like an air drop but buried and not showing on the map?

We found 2 in about 10 minutes last night... maybe we just got lucky.

They are game generated. You have to be walking though. Won’t work if you are sprinting

Run along streets or railways and activate it every 100 meters after a while u will find them. Follow the beep with the highest frequency, this will increase the frequency until u hear a continuus beep. Dig the chest out of the soil.
