Its not that weapons were nerfed, it is just that the server you are on may have bot health set to 200%
Yeah, I went and looked.....dear god, they did have it set to 200%......
Why would anyone set the AI health to 200%......I wish bot damage could go below 100%.......
Why is the PISTOL the AI's best weapon? I got hit from 100 to 10 by 1 single 1911 shot. I didnt think pistols did that much damage....wtf...
Because the 1911 uses the .45 caliber = ouch!
But does it do more damage than other pistols in game? I know waht it does in RL, but in game, I swear i watched Loaf's damage and armor video and all the pistols were lumped in together all with 1 damage value of like 25 or so.
EDIT: and now rewatching the video, .45s are 50 dmg. Ok, but then you factor in armor of 50% for heavy assault vest, that is 25 dmg, 4 shots to kill. With a HEADSHOT, while wearing a heavy assault helm(which my guy is), its only 30 damn damage. Sooooooooo, where in the HELL is all the damage these AI deal coming from? 100 to 10 in a single 1911 shot? Sorry, but that doesnt match the math. Same thing of the Helicopter RPK guys. RPK is in the AR category, it does like 25 dmg a shot vs all the heavy armor, yet the Heli RPK guy kills me in like 2-3 hits every time.

Yes it does. The damage values for pistols are not all the same. And i am pretty sure Loaf didnt say that in the video he did with weapons contra damage for the 1911. The .45 caliber does a lot of damage like irl, both the 1911 and UMR are damage "creators" ;)

Except from watching dudes video, the heavy assault armor/helm does pretty much cover your entire upper portion, and even parts of the body that arent visually covered by armor.
Its also astounding with what such ease the AI seem to hit those pixel sized weakpoints. Its not like I was just standing out in the open, naaawww, im always behind the fattest tree I can find, I poke in and out of cover, fire, take cover, poke, fire.....yeah...I dont just sit there and let myself get shot.....but damn if the AI arent BS with the accuracy.
Also, also, how much of the "head" is the "head" hitbox? The throat counts as a head hit?
No, the visually covered parts with armor, is the only areas that are protected. forex. If youre neck is exposed visually, your neck is exposed for damage. The neck is pretty much the same as a headshot damage wise - just like irl. The heavy assault armor only covers the areas you can see - so, forex. your armpits aint covered! Yes, the AI will use these uncovered areas of your body - you do/should do the same ;) The AI is pretty well coded in this game.

Heavy assault armor *does* get rid of those weakpoints on your ass and crotch, stuff like that. JUst before that part, he illustrates how under the arm pits is infact guarded by the armor, even though it isnt visually.
Yeah rightly, they did change that last big update, with armor protecting the armpits - true.
Were you wearing a helmet? I think somewhere along the lines, baf pixel nerfed the headshot damage AI can dish out so you can survive a pistol headshot from them, but not other players.
My guy has been wearing heavy assault everything since like hour 1, no joke. I had an absolute top tier start, getting a supply drop with armor, a stalker bag and the works. That allowed me to start clapping convoys and heli crashes pretty quick, and I just kept getting more and more gear from there. Soooo, yeah, I have a heavy assault helm and vest......in fact ive got heavy assault vests in many different colors. Come on over to Zelz PVE server, and come shop around at Fandragon's armor emporium. We have armor of ALL the colors of the rainbow.
I have noted that shooting the neck may still count as a full unarmored headshot, can someone verify this for me?
also helmets aren't rated to protect against rifle rounds, so yes you can dome someone with a rifle round, if they were rated for rifle rounds you'd have such a hard time keeping your head up that you may as well break your own neck before it does.
weapon accuracy overall needs to be improved and the damage the ai does even at 100% needs to be nerfed into the ground save for headshots which should in fact kill you in one hit, helmet or not (unless its a handgun round).
on that note, damage should be weapon based not what ever numbers exist for ai to play with. if the m99 does 100 damage regardless of where it hits, it should do 100 damage. if the svd does 100 damage on headshot and 50 to 75 it should do that minus the damage reduction the body armor gives (same with every weapon)
