Watched my brother play it for a few weeks and good lord. Screams asset flip with poor coding.
it worked better before the update. they just wanted to make the game harder and created certain heavy missbalances.
As I am hosting an own Server, I can tell you that it is not possible to adjust the time when your dead body disappears and is not loot'able anymore.
This one of the not adjustable things, even as Server Admin/hoster.
By talking to other gamers and due to own experience I can tell you that when you got shot, you got round about 10mins to get to your dead body and get your loot back.
If you "beam" yourself to your dead body (which is possible with admin rights) OR if someone else is beaming himself from somewhere to somewhere during the time you want to get to your dead body, there is a 95% Chance that your dead body disappears and is not lootable anymore.
This is one reason why I host my own server. If some of my loot disappears by unfair botkills or due to disappearing of my body by a bug - I re-create the loot I got so far and play ahead.
1. Risk management which is huge for games like this.
2. Gets rid of the annoying run to get your loot back.
3. Other players can still loot the corpse.
yeah, i also run my own server and do it like that. but the fun is gone - geoing to a heli, getting killed three times in a row, because the m-99 doesn't hit deadly on distances i used to hit them almost everytime before... as you know, a fwe klicks and everything is back: for the admin. but what about the other players? and, most important: the fun is gone. i can't do most of the things i did before any more.
speaking of convoys: they are the easiest thing in the game: teleport to yantar, when a convoy show up on that route. mine the road with four explosive charges. hide in the next house and watch the convoy from third person perspective. and then: WOOM - all dead in a second, everything done.
i can't do a heli anymore, but i have my stash full with skinned heavy assault vests, helemts and svds.
that's no fun.
