Deadside
Who's worried about the playerbase dying?
I've noticed the the playerbase has been slowly going down and I'm getting worried this game might die before the game becomes great through updates.

I stopped caring about low pop. ye it decreased from 8k to 2k but i guess this happens in many games on steam. there is practically new game every month and people want to check them out aswell. if you decide to play on most populated server you will have 40-50 people online anyway and that's the server limit so low pop doesn't concern you in that way. unless devs drop out from the project xd
Thats what i worry or their updates dont intrest people
I personally love the game! I think it has a huge amount of potential and the player base on our server is all that matters to me we have quite a few on the server and that's all you need really there's so many servers ATM so the player base is spread out to wide. :)

Im just afraid this game won't survive because the playerbase keeps going down.
These games don't survive because cheating absolutely wrecks the experience. This isn't like playing a round of Squad, where if you're using ESP, it doesn't matter at all, because where you see that one guy you want to kill is where the rest of his team is as well. And an aimbot is of limited utility because of all the bullets flying around. Cheating is really bad in games like these, and especially bad in this one, since it literally has no features aside from decent, small-scale survival gunplay.

Secondarily, the toxicity in this game is off the charts for some reason. I'm an experienced survival game veteran with thousands of hours spent in the major titles over the years, and I'm still flabbergasted by how bad it is here. When you spawn and get killed 30 seconds later, while still naked, by someone calling you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and threatening to rape your mother, that leaves an impression. I'm not affected by that personally, but in my relatively short amount of time in this game, I've seen a few players quit because of exactly this.

Keep in mind, the issue isn't with the PvP in itself (something I've always been a proponent of), but specifically the toxicity. Players won't stay if the experience is this bad, and it's middle-school-bathroom-cussing levels of bad.

Are you a decent individual, and want the game to survive and prosper? Start forming bonds with other players, especially new ones, and grief the toxic ones out of the community.

Per Steam Charts, avg players per day is actually up 2% compared to last month.
The only reason why deadmatter looks good is because they are playing within the games SDK. Everything usually runs very good in the games SDK. Runs smooth, looks good. They raised alot of money. They show off some game play with 3 or 4 people.

But the actual game I doubt will be what you expect. They dont show much of the map, only a small part, and a tunnel. Not haiting on the game. But at least deadside is already out, just not enought content.

the game is lacking content, they have no reason to play it

Feel sorry for u I've only met one truly toxic player, other than that I've met people that dont trust randoms because I've seen a naked guy kill a geared player with DB or knife. But I understand what you're saying, I've been lucky to not encounter a hacker in any of the servers I play on. I'm still hoping for the best because I believe this game has a lot of promise since I've given up on DayZ.

Agreed that's why I'm hoping the big update will bring people back.

I noticed that to and I hope it will stay that way so we can stay above 1000 during the day.

Unless you're playing on low-pop private servers, I guarantee that you've met hackers. You're just not realizing it.

No I normally play on filled servers either at max or close to max. There was one but he was just spamming chat promoting his server. But so far haven't encountered hackers on the server I play on. I avoid the official server since that's where I here most hackers are.

So I've been lucky and stick with servers with dedicated admins so even if there was a hacker, they are gone the moment the admin hear and get proof.
