Epic missions keep failing

Whenever epic missions finally do decide to pop up, it is near impossible to complete them.
The AI is made in such a way, that whenever they are getting shot at or even hear a shot, they run away if they cant see the player. This is especially noticable at the only location where an epic mission can spawn.
A clever way to complete the mission would be to snipe the AI, however this is not the case. The AI will run so incredibly far away from the epic mission, that they are not to be found.
Obviously this is incredbily annoying and frustrating as the epic mission will fail after a certain amount of time and a lot of resources and irl time will be lost. I will simply ask the devs to fix the AI, so they do not run, or atleast not as far as they currently do.

It is a known bug, where one or two of the ai run away and are difficult to locate. They can be found but you have to look around for them in and around the mission area...

So you're implying that I lack skill and a certain tactic. This is obviously not the issue as I am not new to the game. It is a problem that the AI runs so far away, that it often results in the mission failing. Dont you think I've tried other tactics?

Ignore him. He is a toxic compensate-for-something-because-lacking-in-something internet know it all.
He is too funky to even have his profile set to public.
As for the problem. An easy fix would be marking the enemies on the map when their count is below a certain value. 5 or 4 would be more than ideal.

Easiest and quickest way to complete epic missions (or any other) is to use a shotgun and hide inside a container. Bots can't get inside them, so you're safe. Easy as that.
