Anti Cheat is flawed - false positives, and ILLEGALLY scanning computer

Hello there, I just bought the game, and am super excited about it.

I havent actually played yet.

I've launched the game 4 times and everytime it loads up EAC it says "please close cheat engine before launching this game". With an exit button.

OK. Great. Reboot computer.
.....SAME THING....

So there's a few issues here:
1) It is illegal - and cases have already been slammed in federal court in the USA against companies who scan the client computer for programs. Other game companies have been sued, class actions, etc - and LOST BIG TIME.
Let me repeat that: it is ILLEGAL for you to scan the entire client computer for ANYTHING. That is not how a good anti-cheat should work. A good anti-cheat should only scan the GAME FILES, and the GAME PROCESSES - for any tampering/cheating etc.
Since - as is obvious to anyone with software engineering knowledge (like me) - these are the only ways anyone can "cheat" anyway.
Let me repeat that part too: the ONLY way anyone can "cheat" a game - is by directly altering the game files; and by attaching to game processes.
A valid anti-cheat, therefor, must only scan game files; and scan the game processes.

Any anti-cheat scanning other files on the client computer is BREAKING THE LAW.
I have NOT checked the actual process stack of your anti cheat, but the behavior it is showing suggests that this is what your anti cheat is doing. **Your company is in severe danger by doing this.**

I really have high hopes for this game, and dont want the devs to land in federal court with $m fines - which has happened to other companies who did the exact same thing.


2) It appears that your anti-cheat setup is triggering false positives.
I dont even have cheat engine running (I use it extensively for single player games - as at least 90% of any serious gamers do). Yet it wont even let me launch the game....

I _WILL_NOT_ be uninstalling anything from my computer because your game says I have to.
Refer to #1 this is illegal, and will result in your company going to court - and considering youre a small company - I dont think you would survive that kind of illegal behavior.

Please configure EAC and program it correctly so that you are not flagging legit players.
So many "anti-cheats" out there are currently doing this and I dont believe your game will survive such a mistake like that either.

I have high hopes for this game and hope to be playing it soon!

(FYI I am a tech company CEO and invest in dozens of tech companies, so I do know the legal issues surrounding technology development, etc etc as I have stated in this post - I deal with this stuff on a weekly basis.)

1. Its not scanning its tracking what you have opended while you play the game which is ok if you look at Valorant which is a Kernel64 Priority anti cheat which can even destroy youre whole Computer and can change things in BIOS. Cheat Engine is as it says a Programm to change Data in the game (example: you have 20cash that can turn in 20 million in 4 clicks) Since that is simply not okay you need to have an anti cheat which scans what you have open while playing the game. They also have a blacklist of Programms that cant be installed so they check if u have them, you have then you cant play the game. I had to uninstall cheat engine too and who cares i havent used the programm in years so i dont need it, if u need it and use it every day or week then dont play the game simple as that!

2. If its illegal then ask every game with Battle Eye, EAC, Vanguard to get a diffrent one (if you do that say welcome to the cheaters every game is ruined millions of cash for tournaments will be wasted and 95% of the people will stop playing their favorite game) Look at csgo their anticheat is bad so nobody gets banned really. Tarkov (Battle eye anticheat) is great cheats cost over 300$ if u want to be undetected

3. In my opinion id rather have my pc under view 24/7 which is already the case because of the Xbox app (they can see everything and hear everything in a feature the app gives) then play with countless cheaters.

4. i got 94 Hours and saw 1 real cheater. i played 10 hours of cs and saw more then 30.
You get the point how anti cheat matters? Good then start thinking about what happens if u try to get rid of the good anti cheats.

5. Everyone on the internet is being watched 24/7 by apps microsoft has installed when buying the pc and Windows. That is illegal, not filtering out cheat programms. Every word you say is heard by someone sometime. Theres a few tests on how to check if you are heard by someone.

6. Since the release of Deadside Players dropped down by 75ish% Since Anti Cheat is on the game Players are now 50/50. why is not everyone playing? The Developers are very heavily stressed to get new content and news for the players and they dont have time to get the perfect Anti cheat to make everyone Happy.

7. You dont want to play it then, Fine who cares get a diffrent game and start complaining about it again. Theres some things you cant Change so live with it!

I was just falsely banned on tarkov for no reason, i was underneath dome looting tunnel area, and i heard a guy, went into the corner and watched the door and was banned.

1. VALORANT is already going through a lawsuit filing.
They are going to get slammed so hard.
Do not make statements when you have no information or knowledge on the topic. Doing so is called ignorance and spreading misinformation. Bad.

2. Wrong again. I'll repeat - stop making statements you have no information about.
MOST games using EAC, battleeye etc implement it correctly.
EAC and BE as anti-cheat packages which games license to add to their games are also adamant about correctly implementing them to developers. Its in the documentation with a heavy warning to developers not to do things like scanning entire computer - or they will face legal problems and EAC/BE/etc take no responsibility for that.

3. "in my opinion" - there you go, thats what you should be saying.
Youre welcome to your opinion, if you want another company running processes and things on your computer that you have no control over and no idea what they are doing.
This is however the definition of BAD IDEA and my "opinion" is that not only do I not like this or allow this on my computers - but its ILLEGAL....for a very good reason.....

4. I never said anything about getting RID of anti cheat. I am very happy they have anti cheat, and are using a pretty decent one (EAC), which I know and like generally (I have many other games which use it and its always been one of my preferred ones).
THere is a HUGE difference - which you obviously are not capable of understanding - between implementing a good anti cheat PROPERLY.....and BREAKING THE LAW by doing things to people's computer which is ILLEGAL and can DAMAGE THEIR COMPUTER.
Now its 100% clear and obvious that you are a "yes man" fanboy with no logic, reason, rationality, education, understanding of anything like morals and integrity - so explaining to you why this matters (ALLOT MORE) in principle, is moot and pointless. I’ve been talking with the devs the last few days as I’m one of the false-positives that have been banned and I was told some software on my computer triggered the anti-cheat. When asked what software, they couldn’t provide it. They just said it was a software labeled as an cheat under EAC. After some research I’ve found some software/programs can trigger it even if it isn’t a cheat which is so dumb. I play so many multiplayer games and never had this happen, so I’m so lost on how this game got triggered but none of the others. It doesn’t make sense at all

well thats really sad to hear that they are going down this road.
they are too small of a company, and the game is still way too small, to be making these mistakes.

this is not an issue with EAC. EAC is a licensed library that game devs have to take and implement themselves. if they implement it badly and add a bunch of routines to it like scanning the whole computer etc they are breaking the law, and also causing false positives.

so basically if they dont fix this, then the majority of serious gamers are going to get flagged at some point, because serious gamers have allot of games + game utilities installed on our computers.

there is a very good example of a game dev that did anti cheat perfectly.
that is path of exile.
path of exile does almost all its anti cheat server side.
that means the client is also fully cooperative with any utility programs. POE has tons of them which any serious POE player uses (things like map overlays, trade utility programs etc) which are even endorsed by the game dev.
they have ZERO cheat problem in the game because they detect any out of bounds activity on the server.
ZERO intrusion into the player client machine, and no anti cheat program installed either.

its a near bullet proof system (nothing is 100% but they are 99.9%).
maybe this game dev will figure something out like that.

lets also not forget that any of us who play legit, absolutely hate cheats. they ruin these games completely. i am 110% in support of whatever measures - within legal means - the devs have to take to make this game cheat free.
if its infested by cheats i wont play it.

You were banned by the EAC for using the cheat.
Not some SOFTWARE that triggers EAC, but a deliberately private cheat made for hacking Deadside.
If you believe that the ban was issued by mistake, you can appeal to the EAC.
