Alm Tree Shortage

I am having a really hard time finding Alm trees. I have all three Whirley bugs unlocked and the Alm Totem and so far only 1 Alm Tree spawned in my town. I even destroyed the Leif Totem to increase the chances. Am I just so dang unlucky?

Same here, came to comment after 60 days without a single alm tree and wanted to ask if this is normal. I dont have the totem, but that few trees is hell, I am completely stuck right now, looking for the alm trees all day long and NOTHING.

I managed to get one of the ultimate upgrades by gambling for em...but now more upgrades need them T_T

Do you have the maximum number of tree stumps set out? Are you chopping down trees that turn into normal trees? They're also very easy to overlook in the forest if you aren't paying very close attention. The shortage is real though--they seem to be much rarer than Leifwood.

I’ve noticed the same thing. I have the max amount of trees in my town, and I’ve had two turn into leifwood trees. But even when I go through the forest I see leifwood trees way more than I ever see alm. I’ve maybe gotten 10 pieces of alm wood total in the entire time I’ve played and I’ve almost upgraded everything and practically maxed out my skills.

They're REALLY hard to see, I've found. I caught myself missing them.

The Alm totem is a godsend to get a few growing in town.

Im not even near max number of tree stumps.
And I dont think ive missed many of them. Always looking just for them, since I dont need anything else right now. Get tons of Leifwood!
I found one a few hours ago btw, so my record got stopped at 63 days without alm tree :D I will keep looking for them

Once you have the alm/lief tokens:

Step 1: Plant tree trunks (as many as you can)
Step 2: If a normal tree grows, chop it back down to its stump

It will take some time, but soon enough you'll have plenty of alm/lief trees in your town. You can cut them down back to the stump and they'll remain alm/lief trees, but be careful not to completely chop them.

I will try this, thanks! Actually I got the totems few hours ago and hoped it would be like you say here :D

I have been quite successful in finding plenty of these trees in the forest, just look for the trees with a flat top, otherwise hard to distinguish, you will harvest plenty once you start seeing the difference.

I've had the same problem. I have Leif Trees OUT THE NOSE. I have the reset timer and mow the entire forest down so even if I don't SEE that it should be Alm, I'd chop it down anyway. But I have come across exactly ONE tree in over two years of game time. FREAKING ONE! I despise any game mechanic that pivots on a POS RNG that is set arbitrarily low to artificially pad the game's run time. I'm about ready to find a mod/hack that just causes them to spawn manually because this is idiotic. I also had to go to the wiki to even find out how to get them in the first place because there was nothing IN GAME to explain it. Which is just more poor design.
