Accidental cheat code?

Hi, I just started up a new game. When I press "R" on the keyboard, or X on a controller, it seems to just spawn me items. Is there some way to turn this off or rebind it to something I'm less likely to accidentally press?

You're not the only one. I had R mapped to triangle on my PS4 controller so I could rotate chairs and now my inventory is full of hundreds of every item aside from tools. And the game is moving at super speed for me now.

Yeah, it seems to have activated some sort of cheat mode? It unlocks all of the buildings and recipes and everything. Plus with no way to manually save/load, I pretty much won't be able to play until that gets fixed :c

Yea had to alt f4 so it didnt save and i had all these items ruining the experience.

Same here, just adding on. Was there an update recently?
Loaded game, pressed "X" on xboxone pc controller and received many high tier items with the message "CHEAT CODES" on the bottom of the screen.

tested it out on my town who i have 100% on and yes, its a thing, it needs to be fixed then or give a option to disable it

Yes, I just hit R on the keyboard and the same thing happened. I've just download a program called Simple Disable Key which is free for a 14 day trial and set to disable the R key... quick fix for now!

Yup, critical bug here. It needs hotfix ASAP. Good thing game doesn't save after ALT+F4) If not this my save may be well dead, it's the same for me)

I just hit R to rotate a chair and got this Cheat Code thing. I'm so sad - it not only unlocked many items it also added several achievements that I didn't actually do. I hope it gets fixed soon. So sad. Wish I had not saved cause now I will have to start a new file once it gets fixed.

Same thing happened to me but I had no idea about unlocked objects yet so I saved and quit the game and now my save is ruined.

I've just started playing this game for the first time and it's happened to me when I accidently pressed the R key! Gutted as it's just unlocked everything super early and gave me a ton of spoilers, needs fixing asap!

I use a ps4 controller and when I hit square this happened to me while i was streaming and had to delete my save and start over. Not that I was super far into the game but it was not cool at all

Same here. PS4 Controller - finally got my son to play it and he was immediately almost at the point of tears. He spent all this time laying out his village and accidentally pressed Square (X on XBox controllers) and Poof! Activated cheat codes and got tons of game ruining items with NO WAY TO REVERT back to where he was before. Only way to escape is to Task Manager kill it to re-start the day, but still - he lost ALL the time he had spent laying out the town. After regaining his composure he played for another hour only to forget and accidentally press it again.... :( This is definitely a game ruining experience.
