So the game is dead now, huh?
I see the game hasn't been patched since August of last year. That... concerns me a bit. Makes me think the game is no longer being patched, that bugs are no longer being addressed, and that the endgame just... doesn't have an end, and won't.

That's... a problem.

As an aside, who is best waifu, and why is it Lilith?

"Dead" is a bit hyperbolic. The game is finished. I wish the newer bug reports were being addressed, but other than that, the fact that the game is done is not "a problem," it's just an inevitability. One person made this game.

Sean is working on a new game in the same universe with many of the Littlewood characters. It seems very likely their story will continue. You can see pictures on his twitter account.

Best waifu is Bubsy's eyebrows, fight me.

Finished? You mean the part where you go to the edge, get a cloak and a time thingy, and just... that is the end of the game? No finality, no real endgame? That's not "Finished", that's "I didn't write an ending and can't think of one". It reeks of a bad kickstarter game mindset.

Also bubsy is a butt.

I mean, it's a pixel citybuilder. The endgame is making your town beautiful. The game is explicitly pitched on the Steam page as a peaceful world where the Big Battle is over, there are no monsters to fight, and you're just trying to make a nice village with your friends. All of this is delivered! That the game then goes on to complicate this premise with "well maybe the Big Battle isn't over after all" isn't a weakness, it's a strength, imo. It adds conflict and tension. The fact that this tension isn't resolved by the "end" of the game is nonstandard in many genres, but by its very nature a building/farming game doesn't have a "standard" narrative structure. The fact that there's a "main story" at all is unusual, and I think that's cool.

If you're just looking for the answer to "well is the Big Battle over or not?" it looks like the answer is coming in the next game.

Kind of a bummer if he really just left Littlewood dead in the water in favor of his new game. I mean, grats to him and his new game and everything, but Littlewood still has that "unfinished" feel to it.

Unfinished game, and I get the feeling the developer is done with it as is.
Lightor Jun 3, 2021 @ 10:50am
Yah I would agree the game is not "finished" by any means. Again not mentioning all the bugs. The game got high marks, if you poured more effort into it more people would continue to buy and play it. Look at Deep Rock Galactic and how much content they push. And since they do, they can drop supports packs every so often that people buy like crazy.

It just needs a little more development to wrap up loose ends. It will be a winner if he does that.

Did this game /ever/ get a content update in any shape or form..?

There is a pinned message from the developer right after release that we should give feedback and suggestions regarding future content/features, but it never bore any fruit?

What do you want more in this SP Casual City Builder?

An actual ending/conclusion or some endgame play.

Plot threads being properly resolved rather than being baited and never addressed again.

Fleshed out gameplay that isn't just unlocking more opportunities to do the exact same thing over again.

As a start.

not having bright green flowers and weeds in winter, a use for fully implemented and accessible items and to not have my spouse heavily hint that there is a mystery we are on the cusp of solving several times a week that i know for a fact has no resolution

ya know, the simple stuff

I literally saw you in the Reviews saying this same nonsense. Are you really this bitter over Littlewood? Jesus Christ.

I mean finding out you've bought an unfinished product doesn't feel good. I can see why he might be upset about it. Why is that nonsense?

People are allowed to criticise the game. No need to call them bitter when they share a different point of view. But +1 to the original comment. The story started nicely and I was a huge fan of (my) mid-game experience. But as soon as I hit the point where I could reverse the time I felt disappointed. There are several dialogues and premises which could lead to such a fleshed-out endgame experience and a nicely wrapped story ... instead we got this. Great.
