Help regarding Gemfish

Alright so, I'm 24 hours into the game. Doing what I can to collect 20 books to have mister bard join my town. But boy, I am having some trouble. So there's one traveler who will visit when you sell 3 Gemfish (Saphhire) right? Wiki says they spawn in spring. I have looked EVERYWHERE and cannot find a single one! Am I missing something? (Needless to say I go to Deluca port daily!)

Those fish spawn one type per season in your town and in the endless forest.

I have not seen a single gemfish this spring. So I'm still confused. I got some in deluca, just not the right type. (By doing the boat fishing) None when fishing my town and in the forest. Got a ton of Tetras though.

Same here, I am in my third in game year and I still have not found 1 of these Gemfish, and this merchant is the only one that has not been to my town, how are we to finish the Grand Library if we cannot find this fish.

So far I have gotten 1 sapphire gem fish. It was during my first spring and it was either in the endless forest or the town. I hadn't unlocked Deluca at that point so it definitely wasn't there. I do know some fish are dependent not only in season, but also day/night. With those factors taken into consideration and it also being probably rare then yeah it could be hard to get them.
