I can't make stairs.

I've tried making a road to go up or down and does not work and I can't get to the one chest in the bottom left on the hill.

Same here. Not sure if its an oversight or what.

It is rather unclear. Stairs can be built only on the bottom sides of a cliff. Alternatively, you can actually use the "Move' building tool to just move the chest to an area you can reach. You can build stairs using the dirt road. It isn't a separate item.

elevate the ground somewhere and connect it to the existing hill, then use the dirt road flooring. you can't make the stairs on the sides of hills for now i guess. only the front

you make a dirt path and it sort of auto makes stairs for you - scratch that it doesn't work not to sure how to make steps work i think he needs to fix it

making stairs works just fine; the only issue is that it has to be on the southern edge otherwise it won't work. you also need enough to make dirt path to make it yea. if you have trouble reaching something tho just going into building mode, hitting move, selecting a square that you can't access and then escaping will teleport you to said square. then you can just teleport back to wherever afterwards. you can't teleport directly on a chest but you can teleport on any open terrain adjacent to it.
