Game ignores Windows volume mixer

The game volume is far too loud even on the lowest discrete setting. This wouldn't be an issue, except for the fact that the game also completely ignores my computer's volume mixer settings. There is absolutely no setting I can change on my desktop to make it quiet enough, aside from reducing the entire master volume of my computer. This is a problem because it then means I need to either readjust my computer's volume every time I start and stop playing Death's Door, or I need to readjust every single other program's volume to fit with my newly-reduced master volume.

Is there any fix for this to stop Death's Door from ignoring the individual program settings of the volume mixer, or is there some startup setting I can change to properly reduce the game volume?

Is there a "Unity" program setting in the volume mixer? If so, does changing that affect Death's Door?
