Lack of save points is killing this game for me
I am in the Furnace Observation Rooms section, and there are tons of places where you can die once you get to those dudes that shoot cannons at you while a ton of enemies spawn all around.

Whenever you die, you are placed all the way back at the beginning of this Furnace Observation section. A long, long way to get back to where you died, only to die in the next room and have to do it all over again.

Please, for the love of sanity, make more save points.

A great place for a save point in this god-forsaken level would be that large round door that you open up. When you enter that door every time, the game does a slow walk through it. Please add a save point at this big, round door. That would cut off a bunch of the useless backtracking on this level.

There is a save point right after that round door. The keyhole to activate a shortcut door is in the very next room.

But, I have no key to open that door. Where is that key found, please? I thought I scoured this level up to that round door, but found no key.

It's a big floating red keyhole. Those are the warp doors and they open on their own automatically when you just "interact" with them, no key needed.

Oh my gosh, are you kidding me?!? What a doofus I am. I kep thinking I needed a key and didn't even move up to it! Sheesh! Thank you!

To be fair to you though, it's never explained and assuming you need a key for a keyhole is pretty fair.

Yep. This game is a lot of fun, but it's very difficult to know where to go next. After beating Grandma, you are basically given zero clues as to where to go next. I would like just a teeny bit more direction. But, I guess their design is that they want you to keep exploring the same areas over and over to see what's new.

Most people I saw playing just went to the grey crow, which told you where to go and tells you again. I thought that's okay tbh

The grey crow? Where is the grey crow to be found, please? I guess I don't know anything!

Oh, I think I found him by randomly exploring the cemetary area. He was up on a cliff and told my next area was the forest to the north (or something like that). Is that who you're talking about? If so, then you still need to randomly wander around until you find this grey crow.

Or is he somewhere more easily found, as well?

You HAVE to talk to him, I believe, to get the key that opens a path towards the witch's estate. He talks to you about how there are 3 old spirits he wants you to claim for him, and tells you to go west to the witch first. I'd assume that afterwards, you'd go to him again (at the big scary door) and he'd then say "the next one I suggest is to the east, in the ruins" or something.

If you know the map well enough, you can head to the next zone as soon as you get one of these powers. I did that on my umbrella run, I left witch as soon as I got fire, and went to ruins.

BTW, the big floating keyholes... Did you open any of the others up to this point? There is one in the graveyard almost as soon as you wake up from being conked by the crow in the start. From there, the next openable door is in the witch's estate, one in the lobby of the witch's house, and the next is in the furnace after that round door.

I am slowly going back and opening the rest of those floating door keyholes.

As for the big crow, I just forgot where he was when he initially told me about the three souls I had to find. Completely forgot where he was, so I just wandered around like an idiot. I will remember now.

And yet nothing stop players from "interacting" with said door.
In some games doing so will mention THE TYPE of the key needed to open it. ;)
