Stuttering in game
Some people have reported issues with stuttering with the game on their PCs, this mainly seems to be caused by vsync problems with some hardware setups. Here are some steps that could fix the issue.

1. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.

2. Change VSYNC in the options menu to false

3. Open your graphics settings (Nvidia control panel) and go to:
Manage 3D settings > Program Settings tab > Select Death's Door

3b. If Death's Door isn't in the list of programs you can add it to the list manually. An easy way of finding it's location is by right clicking the game in steam, selecting properties > Local Files > Browse, then copy the address from here into the Nvidia control panel.

4. Find the Vertical Sync option in the Nvidia control panel and change the value to either "Adaptive", "On" or "Fast" to enable hardware level Vsync for the game, try all three settings out to see if any fix it.

This should solve most instances of the stuttering. If it persists feel free to comment in this thread with any other info you can give, GPU, CPU, OS etc.

So forcing vsync off and then capping framerate does not make the stutter go away. But the the higher the cap, the less frequent it becomes. At 60, it happens basically every step the crow takes. At 100 it's like every 1.5 seconds.
Interesting, my frequency is 144 hz.

I have an intel i3-8130U CPU - 2.20GHz and an intel UHD graphics 620.
My graphics are updated but I don't have an nvidia control panel and the intel command centre cant detect the game as it's on steam. I've spent a couple hours so far trying to find the vsync and it doesn't exist for me!
Really stuck as I'd love to play this game!

I'm having the same problem as Jambi, stuttering is severe. I've tried to apply all sorts of fixes since yesterday (yes, the problem persists with reflections turned off), but nothing works. Some areas seem to stutter more severely (notice the graveyard), but the problem persists in all areas.
CPU: i7-7700HQ
GPU: GTX 1050

I'm also having some severe stuttering that I can't get rid of with any of the fixes. I'm running the latest version of Windows and most up-to-date GPU drivers on an i7-6700k with a 1080ti and 16GB of RAM.

Just adding another to the stuttering issues. I'm on Windows 10 with an i5 6500 and a GTX 1070. I have turned my NVIDIA control panel settings to adaptive vertical sync for Death's Door, and changed the config file value to false for vertical sync. oddly enough, when i started recording, the wavy line effect went away but the stutter became more apparent. turning off reflections did help mildly until i went out into a busy section. video below.

Could you also try with vsync set to "on" instead of "adaptive" in nvidia settings and see if that makes a difference?
Also random question but to anyone with this issue do you have multiple monitors in use at once? Just chasing another theory.
Thanks.

I have tried with both settings but nothing happens.
No, i only have one monitor.

just wanted to add that i play on a144mhzmonitor, and the game doesnt even want to remain at 144fps( and really.it shouldnt have any issues running )

foran exmaple, nier replicant runs flawlessly forme, Knockout city runs at 144 fpssmoothly..and is quite a bit more involved than death'sdoor visual wise.
regardless ofmy settings, its always present.
if i cap my monitorto 60 mhz, the game refusesto run at 60, and runs at an intermittent 53-60, causing massive vibrations and lac of smoothness.
at 144, its fine - but when i start to move, the frames drop severeley.
i have disabled allpost processing in gam, and get the same result.

also worth mentioning that this occurs when i play through Gforce NOW as well.

win 10 4.5ghz cpu
144mhz monitor
nidia 1660gtx gpu
16GB ram

Ok thanks.
Another thing that could help me, if someone who has this issue could run performance monitor while they have the game open for a bit and send me a screenshot.
Start > run > type: perfmon.exe /res > order by cpu usage and select Deaths Door

Thanks for the added info, interesting you say when moving camera - do you have any FPS readouts of it that say FPS drops when camera is moving? or is it more just that when you move you can perceive the stutter a lot more easily?

Like this? Not on my main PC atm, but this one has the issue as well.

I've tried this and there is a spike in the CPU usage and Frequency everytime the stutter happen.

As for your other question I was using dual monitor and when I tried the first solution you suggested I could no longer open the game. There was a error box with a red "!" when I tried to launched it. I disconnected the second monitor and the game launched fine and is no longer having this issue even with the second monitor plugged now. But the stutter persists even if I disconnect the second monitor.

I'm using a laptop, i7-7700HQ 2.80ghz, geforce gtx 1050ti 4gb, 16gb ram

the frames just don't stay stable, whether its on 144mhz, or 60 mhz. as soon as you start laterl movement, or move the camera with the controller, it dips constantly.
i think it's a frame pacing issue, another game - Dandy Ace - had this exact issue.

I found stuttering as well, here are my specs in case it helps:

Intel i5 7600K
GTX1060 6Gb
32Gb RAM

I have 2 monitors, playing the game on a 144Hz monitor while the other one is 60 Hz. Tried both "Adaptive" and "On" on Nvidia settings for V-sync but the problem persists.
