Need help with the dark corridor

ok so, I've made it in with a purple mushroom, I went for a little walk, and found a hidden way upwards, and then the mushroom started dimming, so what exactly do I do now?? just keep walking? I can't close my eyes.
any help appreciated

I found an image that shows there's a way up and right, to the left of suicide cliff. How do I get to the right? And/or how do I deal with "I can see you" who is up and left?

You need to close your eyes to pass through the area where someone else is standing. This one is a bit tricky, I had to look up a guide for it. In short you need to stand still in darkness long enough for Shade to start talking and you must answer the questions in a way that leads shade to want to become darkness. From then on you can close your eyes and keep going.

You need to hold down on the mouse button to keep eyes closed and move in one direction. If you double click he will open his eyes. It's not super intuitive.
