Can't close eyes

I know this has been mentioned before, but I am totally stuck. I spoke to the face, asked all the questions, read my book on thoughts which still asks the question on how to overcome the dark, even though talking to face should answer it. I figured out the mushroom puzzle, ran into angst and he devours me. I have sat next to him for a long time. No prompts or dialogues appear. I am desperately trying to figure out what I am doing wrong here :(
