Spider Dies

Can anyone please tell me what it takes to trigger the spiders death so that I can finally bring a mushroom down the web. I watched a video where the spider died on the 165th day. I am at day 100, so there must be something that triggers the spiders death.

The developer was nice enough to tell me how to trigger the spiders death. You need to wait 250-300 days from the first time that you meet the spider. It varies from player to player.

Why not because the spider web should be strong enough after he have made it as the other web we need to climb on to reach this place.
