Doubts about day-night cycle
Searching for info I think I've read that there's not a hour/day-moment correspondence that is the same for everybody. Meaning 10 hours left for the next day could be night for a player and day for another. Therefore:

1. Does the 0 hour has something to do with the real time you started the game for the very first time? Meaning that if you started your game at 11AM, 20 hours left will always correspond to 3PM (day time) whereas if you started your game at 11PM, 20 hours left will be 3AM (night time). I feel it's like this but I want to be sure.

2. Also, does anyone know if the time cycle lasts around 12h or if is it less?

Humm, good question.

  • The game does not follow system time. It follows its own time. There are ways to speed up, stop, and even reverse time.
  • I know the birthday event is strictly at 35 hours regardless of system clock, so any event (including day / night cycle) appears to be tied to in-game time.
  • The day / night cycle would only be relevant if you're near the surface. Considering it takes a long time to walk to the surface and I'm almost to the ending I want, I don't want to explore the surface at the moment.
  • It should be noted that if there is a day / night cycle, it would be irrelevant to waking the king. That happens when the clock hits 0.

Yeah, I know that time doesn't follow system time and that you can alter how fast time moves and such. I'm also aware that night/day cycle only matters for any surface related ending. Despite I already achieved the surface ending I wanted, I asked this question because I was precisely waiting in the surface during night time, and I wasn't sure when was the night supposed to end and the day to begin. I was trying to guess the equivalence so I could speed time until that time arrived beign careful not to end up too close to another night cycle.

Basically, and now that I got the surface ending, I strongly believe that in spite of the game not following system time, the first time you open the game each hour is given a value according to your system time at that moment, being 0 hours left equivalent to the time you started playing for the very first time. The rest of the game is not affected by system time anymore, and you can speed time or go backwards, but the thing is, you can tell hours equivalences, and therefore if it's night or day and so if it's worth it to go to the surface or stay in your room.
