I am also sure I won't get the 'never ending notebook' achievement either because I edited the file while I was in game, then edited when out of game, then deleted all content, then added some content, lol if anyone wants to help me with that one. :)
After Shades birthday I had all three singing crystals together and by chance I placed them all exactly on top of each other (I just wanted to decorate). The following spoiler explains what happened:
The crystals melted into a kind of white sphere that was also humming to itself. You can move this sphere back and forth in the cave and place it somewhere. If Shade stands in front of it, he can enter it like a door, only then the game ends (unfortunately). Shade rides on a stork in the credits and wears a crown. (I didn't memorize the text, but I think he decided that from now on he would rather be king himself).
(To be honest, I reloaded the game afterwards, though, because I prefer to experience the original ending, and now wait a few more days until I wake up the king).
