Avid reader achievement?

I read a lot of books, both in real time and while the game was shut down, and the achievement didn't triggered. You have to read every single book or how does it work exactly?

I've read nearly half the book found in the game and it has not triggered yet for me either. I have noticed that the Shade adds a little note at the end of some of the longest books (like Moby ♥♥♥♥) or at the end of a series (like the last Thus Spoke Zarathustra book). Maybe it will trigger after reading Monte Cristo or Illiad or something. I don't know.

Edit: He also added a note at the end of Fables II. So yeah, it looks like the Shade will add a personal note at the end of a series of book. Do we have to read the whole series or just the last book ? I have no idea...

once i reached around 3/4 ths of all the books read the ahciement triggered

It's just the number of pages. You will get there eventually...

Thanks, but what if i reach that number while the game was shut down, the achievement will trigger once i launch the game again?

The whole book paragraph is crossed over, so it is baffling the achievement isn't triggered with the same function as that check.

Mmm that sucks :/ That's an indicator that the game has recorded the achievement, but the link to Steam didn't work the time it was triggered - because it's indeed the very same trigger. Hopefully the next update will fix this problem. We are especially having this issue with Macs, for some reason. As you can imagine, it's rather hard to test, because it works everytime for us, but somehow not for everyone.

Guess im gonna suffer this bug too (playing on Windows). I've read almost every single book and still didn't pop...

Unless you have to read ALL of them, i doubt im still able to obtain it.

I've read every book except for Monte Cristo 3-4-5-6 and it has not triggered yet either.

well, if it has the line crossed out in the thoughts book and it didn't trigger it will be super easy to fix with the next Update (for Windows, at least). If that's not the case, you will have it triggered after more pages hopefully. The page numbers might vary between some players, because the offline reading didn't count properly at first, but that was fixed later.

yep, then it's a case of Steam missing the trigger and not the number of pages being read. Hopefully we get this sorted out soon.

Erm... no idea what happened, but although it did not trigger inside the game, the achievement suddenly appeared out of thin air in my Steam library. So... I guess this is fixed for me. I also want to add that I was NOT reading at the time Steam says I got the achievement. I was actually taking the ~35 minutes long hike to the surface from the Shade's house. So it really appeared in my Steam library just like that.

Well, at least it's there ;)
I guess Steam somehow collects all the achievement data, but the trigger is sometimes rather "off", for no obvious reason.
