Stuck after digging the first flight of stairs

Hey people,

I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if I'm missing something, but I'm stuck trying to dig the second flight of stairs in the Shade's lair.

When I try to dig more after the first flight, he says "The wall is getting harder on the left. I think I should start chipping to the right". But I don't seem to have an option to use the mattock in the other direction. Even when I face to the right and click "use mattock", he just keeps turning around and saying the same thing.. If I try to move further to the right, the mattock option just disappear and the shade starts to walk up..

Have you encountered this problem during your playthrough ? If yes, how did you solve it ?

the pathfinding is a bit crap there, sorry. You can try doubleclicking a bit down to the right and hopefully he will walk a bit more precise then.

reset the game and try again, it's not uncommon to have those issues, my shade was trying to drill every part of the room at one point, doors, roofs, armchairs

So I did what you said and.. The shade stated to walk down to the right, on stairs that didn't exist.. (probably walking through the cave that wasn't dug yet !) He remained stuck there, off screen and couldn't be moved anymore.

Then I restarted the game, got stuck 2 minutes on the "wait" screen (thinking that my save was a goner), but then the game started with my Shade in his living room, ready to face the world. After going down the first flight again, the option to dig to the right appeared at last.

Sooo, I'm not sure what happened, but the situation is under control. That's a relief.

same thing happened to me just now, except the wait screen hasnt gone away after restarting and waiting
