Halls of eternity
I grabbed the book. Any other reason to stick around there?

I noticed the hourglass stops when you are in the halls of eternity.
I have now walked for over 400 hours. Still no change. Conclusion: The Hall of Eternity is infinite. Don't waste any more time there.

Both times I’ve played through the game I’ve found all books and papers. I didn’t bother going more than 1 hour at a time since it’s the same long walk back.
Actually it isn't. I walked for probably close to 500 hours, but when I set Shade to walk back and closed the game, he was back in his home 1 hour later.

I've had the game on idle walking for at least a month, if not somewhere closer to 6 or 7 weeks. I check in about once a week and he's still walking along. I've only found paper since I got past the first few unique items and books. With the message at the entrance, I feel like there has to be an end to it. So I'm going to leave the shade on his journey until I find something. I'll come back and post if/when I do.

Good luck! Let me know if you find anything :)

NOT FOR THE END but....

I sit two hours ( Shade must on his own, poor little thing ) and collecting papers and other things i have not yet. I was interested, how is REALLY long the way back from this Hall.
I didn't investigate if it was otherwise possible ( if you click on any saved location ), but If you click on "CROWN ICON" - Shade's Kingdom - first icon in locations (ingame, undeletable) THEN you exit the game -> 'idle mode', YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK.

To be more precise, you dont need the same time to walk back. IDK if you exit the game and start it immediately, you will be in no-time back in house. I had to do a few things, but when I came back in half an hour and start the game, Shade was already home.

I can personally confirm, that i walking here about 2 hours, and then i order him to way back, exit game, after 30 minutes start again, and he was already home

If you dont exit the game, then you must go back throught all way/time, you walk forward.

So I am making my first trip through the halls going to the right and so far I've found :
1 horse head
5 books
3 rugs
1 curtain
22 pieces of paper
And that's within my first hour of walking. I keep hoping to find some wood down here so I can make my shade his bed.

I think that’s going to be about the majority of what you’ll see in the halls of eternity. I found two rugs, didn’t know they’re were three.
You’ll find more pieces of wood once you get closer to the surface where the well is. I believe the final three pieces you need will be there.

Maybe because it might be eternal but it has finite vastitude meaning the distance stays the same and you know you walk at a constant pace. So it would take the same relative time. Or maybe the halls of eternity are finite, but are just too long to explore in 400 days. Or maybe time doesn’t stand still and is just so slow we feel as if time stands still. Who knows? You’re free to imagine. That’s the fun part.:er_wave:

yo, i just want to cross out "i have learned only a fool tries to reach the end of eternity" in my thoughts book. i asume you have to walk for a certain amount of time in the halls but how long is that?

Watching Twitch (MisterYeti - Retro streamer) so I just kept walking.
4 books. Horse head. Paper(s). Carpet. Red Drape.

After about half an hour ( I didn't actually time it) I turned around and started walking back...
